what makes simple, simple ?

is it the curve in your loved one's posture
when he bends down to let your face fit just right in the crook and the warmth of his neck
when you reach up for a kiss
?
is it a vintage mirror filled with scratches and discoloration
that you love
even if it slightly distorts how you look
?
is it the blinding color of an orange plant
in an otherwise dull looking patch of prairie grass
that is just starting to open its eyes
?
is it a new bead
that you fell in love with while shopping with your hubby
waiting patiently to be touched and played with
?
is it a new set of wooden clothespins
that sits patiently waiting for you
to figure out how to make them look old
?
~~~~~
these are just a few of my beautiful and simple things today
for
~~
what's simple things are bringing a smile to your face
    Taking my morning coffee while sitting in a comfy chair on the patio, with the love of my life. Not having to keep up a conversation, just watching the kittens at play and sharing the laughter.
  14. Oh Beth, great post.Love to see you in the mirror.
    Do you really wanna know how to make these wooden pins look old? Or was it just a saying by using them frequently?
    Well if you really wanna know, take a cup of tea and soak a cloth in it (after the tea is cold) then just rub it on the the pins. Maybe you need to do it several times. Let me know how it worked out. Or if you hade a big laugh about me misunderstanding your lines. ;-)
  17. Wow -- those beads are the best. Just the best -- my mind is running wild with possibilities!
    Right now, the simple things that bring a smile to my face are the Gypsy's heavy fur and sweet boyface, the buttons I got in France, and yes, my basil growing thick and tall and ever so fragrant!
  19. I laughed at the clothespins, they were on my shopping list for weeks before I finally got around to buying some. They do look awfully bright when used beside the old falling apart ones, don't they?
  20. It is so funny that you ask that because banners have been making me smile lately. I see pictures of them everywhere and I just love them. I put up a banner for my husbands birthday and magically it becomes a birthday setting. simple. but true.
  23. We all see simple differently, but I sure like how you see it, Beth. Regarding Dagmar's comment about the clothes pins....I swear that she's just about one of the sweetest bloggers out there and I bet the tea works. If it doesn't, you can have the "for real" old ones in my basement:)
