maybe february...

everyone picked a word and ran into the new year
with their capes flying in the wind behind them
~~
I thought my cape would fly
too
but
it's hanging down my back
waiting patiently
~~
I think february will be the start of my new year
or
maybe march
~~
who gave january all the power anyhow
*
my heart aches for the people of haiti

  5. My cape isn't flying either. It is tucked in beside me in my sweet winter coccoon, along with my word...(I will only "emerge" when it is time...). You smart girl, listening to the rhythm of you and doing things in sweet Beth Time. Perfect !
Aching heart here too, and prayerful mind and spirit.
    Love you !

  6. Dearest Beth. You'll know when the time is right. Besides, you can tell yourself you're operating on a school's fiscal year. Your new year doesn't start until Sept. So see, you've got lots of time.

  11. My opinion... your New Year can be any day, week or month you want it to be. Mine actually may begin on Saturday after a trip to Whole Foods. And, I think it can happen more then once a year, too...just sayin'.

  14. my heart is aching as well...and your year starts WHENEVER YOU want it to start! Have a wonderfully "warm" weekend! Lots of dripping and melting and dreariness isn't there?

  15. Why the rush? Let it all unfold in time. I too pray for those in Haiti. Be well :)

  16. Not everyone needs a word to define their possiblilites or growth. But, I predict that your word will comme to you when you're not even thinking about it. Yep, it will come riding in from the wild blue yonder, bonk you on the head and take you hostage, just like that. LOL

My heart also goes out to those in Haiti. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

  26. I hate the pressure of a January 1st deadline for resolutions...

What is going on in Haiti is heartbreaking...I have sent donations but it doesn't feel like enough...

  27. Yes, Haiti has my heart too today.

The JOY I chose to start the year with is so hard to hold onto. I always seem to be tested when I chose a word. I am thinking I need to have more boldness in my Joy.

  36. I thought I had a word. Actually, I chose one, and another chose me...and well, now, neither is sticking. I think there was too much pressure to have a word...so I am being a non conformist. No word.
    No. Wait.
Every word. Yes. Every word that fits for the time it needs.
