if you'll be my star, I'll be your sky...

this is my hubby
and
I don't thank him often enough
for being the light that helps guide me
~~
thank you
love
for choosing me
and
being patient with me on my ugly days
and
respecting my need for "alone time"
and
keeping me safe
and
making me feel like I can do anything
~~
thank you
for loving the parts of me I wish I could change
and
understanding me even when I don't
and
laughing with me while I laugh at myself
but
most of all
thank you
for
being the light of my life
*
I know this is misty's self portrait wednesday and that you should be seeing a picture of me
~
 but for today
I decided to share with you a photo of the person
who with an amazing amount of love and energy
has made it possible for me
to be me

  2. you can really feel the strength and the love in your relationship through your tribute to your husband, beth. I am so glad that you have such a man as a partner in life, where together you can be both light and sky...

  6. Sweet! And we all know that he also is willing to aid and abet your trespassing, making sure that old houses don't fall down on you while you're getting the one last perfect shot. He's a good man. Handsome too. The guy half of a beautiful couple.

  7. i still think of this as a self-portrait. you are part of him—especially if all you've written here is true! so this is still a portrait of you.

  8. The other part of a great partnership...an extension of you as you have become for him. A great photo...a great guy with a great wife. Love. Real. Grounded. True. Thank you for sharing this with us today. And, thank him for being a part of blog world with us.

  9. Hi Beth,
Yes, I agree, your hubby is totally handsome! What a cool SP idea, too. I'm happy for you both to have such a relationship - however you both look too young to have been married 24 years!

  15. First of all, this is gorgeous -- and so is he, I might add! You two together must knock the socks off of the world!

Second, self-portrait. Don't you think the people whose lives intersect so deeply with ours on every level are part of our own self portrait? I do? I don't see myself without seeing Rick as part of me (or my dearest friends or Gypsy or my family). They are part of the portrait that is me, and he is part of yours.
