hey there, mate...

when I get bored I like to go to sailing
~~
NOT
~~
this sailboat was propped up in just the right spot
for me to climb in
and
for john to take a photo
to totally fool you
~~
did we fool you
hee hee
did you really think I'm a sailor
?
it's a known fact that I'm a huge people watcher
and
this weekend at the union
which is part of the UW Madison's campus
there were 3 weddings taking place
while we {and hundreds of others} sat at the water's edge drinking beer and slurping up melting ice cream from our cones
~~
anyhow
I had more people to study then I ever could have imagined
and
I was in complete awe of the beautiful and nervous brides with their beaded gowns
and
the fabulous printed bridesmaids dresses which I think were from j.crew
and
the delicate flowers
and
the smiles that were growing tired
and
then
I just couldn't stop myself from taking photos of the photographers taking photos of this couple
~~
in the first picture
notice the idiots who weren't smart enough to get off the dock and out of the way
~~
I mean really people
WAKE UP
~~
in the second photo
I think both photographers were mumbling something about all the shadowing going on and how were they ever going to make the groom look taller
all while a momma duck and her babies
were getting irritated that they're space had been invaded
~~
it just doesn't take much for me to have a good time

you did fool me - although i did think you were too much in a "pose" to look naturally at ease in the boat :)

  4. The fact that it doesn't take much is one of the many, maybe million reasons why we love you....

But today I love you for this phrase, "The smiles that were growing tired..." Oh, I love this, it paints for me to see so clearly.

    Love it.

    Love your work.

  5. you didn't fool me because, seriously Beth, even on a sailboat I know YOU would be jumping.

  6. "it just doesn't take much for me to have a good time" is one of the things I love most about you. It makes you exuberant, down to earth, and full of energy to be in the world.

  11. So notting to complaine about hey? And tell John he's a great photographer too. And I do see so very clearly what you mean by the fools not seeing the bigger nicer picture...sigh. Wish you a great weekend.

  12. I was almost fooled but I guess the sail being down kinda spoiled things!!

And maybe that couple knew there would be strangers mingling in their wedding snaps, it being a public place an' all. I hope the photographers managed to get the ducks in!
