someone. somewhere. something.....

someone lived in this house once, but now it looks like that someone has gone away.
i'm sure i would have liked that someone.
how do you not like someone who paints their porch ceiling turquoise?
~
lately, when i wake up, i can literally smell morning. it means fall is coming.
~
recently, i've loved visiting here and here and here.
~
i have another senior photo shoot tomorrow and sunday. honestly, the places i have chosen are going to be considered trespassing {to some degree} and i'm giddy just thinking about it.
is that bad?

  5. Is it a good thing I'm color blind or am I missing a really cool porch?

Can't wait to see where you take the people for the shoot.

  6. I used to have a turquoise porch ceiling! I read somewhere a long time ago that it was de rigeur, you know, in the old days. Seemed to keep the porch cooler in the summertime, or something to that effect.

  7. What'a life without adventure!

Love that porch with turq ceiling... those were very popular in New England sea captains homes, and the tradition continues...

  8. Oh my, don't deserted houses, make you sad?

But you have not just been sad. You have taken a lovely photo, and commemorated this one.

-giggles- Just do be careful, in the places, where.... You maybe shouldn't be. ,-)))))

But I agree, something not-quite-ok, has a way of being very, very interesting. And quite tintillating too. (Now if I could spell, this would be a better comment. -blush-)

  9. Your places visited...

I resonate more with the 1st and the 3rd.

But, sigh, am I about the only blogger left, who fears putting recognizable photos of children, on the World Wide Net? For the possible danger involved? -sigh-

I do know one other gal... But we seem like two tiny rafts, in an ocean full of cute-pics-of-children-grandchildren-etc.

    Gentle hugs,

  11. of COURSE a person who paints a porch celing turquoise must be lovable. there is no doubt in my mind.

love modern hepburn and the 3rd place, with that beautiful clean, scandinavian style (sigh... i always think i want that, but somehow always end up with the opposite...)

  12. The ceilings on my front and back porches are painted blue. I was told when I bought the house that it keeps wasps from building nests. So far I haven't seen a nest, so it must work!

  14. I painted the roof of my mother-in-law's sun porch with an amazing blue. She thought I was crazy for wanting to do that and begrudgingly agreed. Only after all her friends commented on how it was such a great idea did she come around to saying she liked it.
I liked going out there no matter the weather because the blue always tricked your brain into soothing thoughts.

  17. My family has owned a summer house on the coast of Maine for more than 125 years -- and it, too, has a colorful porch roof. I love this old house; I can almost hear the creaking of rockers and the murmuring voices on a soft, summer evening...

  18. I remember doing that when I was little. It is such a great feeling...

  19. wouldn't it be cool if someone was reading this blog and recognized that as their old home? (The turquoise reminds me of our old kitchen when I was a kid, before my dad remodeled it in fashionable "harvest gold and orange")
