oh, hi friday.....

have you ever been so busy that nothing really gets done
and
your head feels like it's spinning in circles
yet when someone asks you
what have you've been doing
you reply "oh, not much"

that's kind of what life has been like around here lately. let's just blame it on the heat.

i've been listening to a lot of music and there are two songs stuck in my head. on replay.
at any given time, you might here me {from out of nowhere} belt out
"lay me down on a bed of roses"
or
"this time i'm not leaving without you"
{do you know what songs i'm referring to}

i hope whatever your weekend has planned for you
that it's filled with love and flowers and some "at the top of your lungs" singing.

  1. I can't say that I know those songs. I spent last weekend driving to and fro with my 23 year old and he was playing music that was alien to me..but the songs became "catchy" and I found myself liking some of them (shhh..don't tell him that! lol!!).

I think you've been tuning into my brain again because this is exactly how I've been feeling and can't figure out where the days have gone and why it looks like I've accomplished so little. The heat has done a number on us, that is for sure!

Have a great weekend and stay cool if it's still hot by you!

  2. Yup... the heat will do that. I love the softness of your photos today. That first one is a beauty.

  3. BEAUTIFUL!
And yes...I feel that way 57% of my days.
The others I just pretend I know what I'm doing I think....

Now I have the 1st song in my head:)

  4. I am bad with remembering songs, but your description of not accomplishing things, and the oh nothing, I can relate to so much. I can't even blame the heat...rain, curling up with a book, blanket hoping for nice weather. have a great weekend.

  5. Oh singing "at the top of your lungs" is so good for us, so healthy. My acupuncturist actually told me to hum regularly to help the sinus's be healthy. So I am humming and singing. I am hoping to sing as I hike tomorrow, searching for the flowers. Have a great weekend.

  9. I do know what you mean about the business of summer days, and also blaming it on the heat! Your photos are cooling and wonderful, though, Beth. They give me a breath of fresh air (that isnt 92 degrees.) thank goodness hubby got an air conditioner for the two rooms downstairs I can live in this week... On an exciting and different note, this afternoon my daughter, her maid of honor, and I are going to get a trial run on a hairdo for the wedding...today. If I LIKE IT AND I don't sweat it out to a humid frizz filled mess in minutes, maybe I 'll even show it...Hmmm, I've never had a REAL hairdo before! Stay cool. Kathy

  14. I can relate to the "nothing much" response. Maybe it's because sometimes it's just too complicated to go into it all?

I feel for those who are sweltering - we are blessed with beautiful weather now in Northern California.

Thanks for remind me to sing...I do that from time to time and it's quite nourishing for the soul. Have *yourself* a beautiful weekend!

  31. Oh gosh, yes, I know that kind of busy. It feels like my whole year up til now has gone like that. Somehow, right now I seem to be catching up. This weekend has been lovely: my husband and stepson went camping, and I got to lay outside in the sunshine (in the hammock of course!) and read a book by my favorite author. =)
