just like a new mom....

she's been so sick. vomiting and diarrhea. i didn't know what to do.
so
when my most favorite vet in the world who i truly believes loves her as much as i do
told me i should bring her in.
i did.
~
they ran tests. lots of them.
and
she's healthy except for a virus.
so they gave her a shot for the vomiting. a shot for the diarrhea.
and
filled her up with fluids to replenish what she had lost.
~
they call it camel back. or at least that's what i think the technician said. the fluid was like two huge sacks that you could feel on her back. under her skin. kind of gross to tell you the truth.
~
so for the last 24 hours i have had two very sad looking eyes staring at me. pleading with me to make her feel better.
~
until now
~
now
she sleeps

  7. Bless her little baby heart. I'm so glad you were able to find relief for her. She'll probably rest for a while to recuperate.

We sure love our 4-legged children, don't we.

  12. If only in times of emergencies they could speak just briefly, so they would suffer less. They do always seem to know we are trying to help...

Hope you both rest easy tonight.

  16. Sorry that this has happened and I hope she feels much better soon. I had my dog Molly for almost 18 years before she got sick and I had to put her down and she was just like one of my children...today I start that journey all over again as our family welcomed a dog into our family...very happy but once again I can tell he is going to have me wrapped around his paws. Blessings. XX

  17. Oh, my gosh. Atlas had fluid injected in him one time when he was sick. I could not stop squishing it - it was so cold and wet and strange. When they told me that they were going to inject him with fluids, I guess I didn't really know what they meant.

Poor dear puppy. I hope she feels much better soon!

  25. sending prayers of peace and comfort and healing her way. It is so heartbreaking watching those saddened eyes, but I am thankful that she has you to speak for her...and to help her get well!! :) You're a good woman. Enjoy the day and maybe crawl under that blanket and snuggle with her...it will calm any uncertainties even for a few moments...believe me. :) ><>

  33. oh beth, i haven't been here for a few days and will start here. poor sophie and poor you. it's so so so hard to not know what to do and thank god for vets who do. i am so glad she's doing better (i peeked and read the update in your next post.) and i know that fluid well - it's what we gave maggie every day - 10mm, under her skin. your poor sophie must have been so sick to need 2 bags. i want to just rub her little head and sing her a made-up song real softly. you do that for me, okay?

thank goodness, thank goodness she is better.
    xoxo
