how do you recap and delete ?

my holiday weekend
started on thursday
~
i followed my niece around in her yard. laughed at her and with her. watched her pick berries and asparagus perfectly from the garden. and silently wished how i had her hair.
then i was off to photograph this sweetheart
now
that he's 6 months old
~
you probably remember him since i've been so incredibly lucky to take his photos before
~newborn, 3 months and now~

i dove deep into a book
on friday
and
with only a few pages left
all 338 of them have kept me intrigued
~
on saturday
we trespassed
on 132 acres that are for sale
and
hiking on them
made us feel like we were in the northern woods of wisconsin
or
colorado
~
with a quick google search
we found out it could be ours
for
4.5 million dollars
*
it was perfect
so
i'm going to start saving for it
even the moss
that softened our steps and felt like velour
and
houses the forest fairies i believe in
was perfect
too
*
honestly, how do you recap a long weekend, where no television was watched, food was delicious, breezes were gentle as they breathed on our necks, but didn't stop the mosquitos from loving us, morning dew danced with the fog down in the cottage valley, butterflies and birds waved to us like they had known us forever, dogs on the sandbars of the wisconsin river made us laugh and hundreds and hundreds of photos were taken ?
~
a. i don't think you really can, but photos and words, help. i guess that's why we have memories
and
b. deleting those extra photos i don't really need....bite your tongue, honey

  8. I'm glad you enjoyed your long weekend. Your hike looked inviting. I have hiked in an enchanted forest in Northern WI and it amazing.

Don't you have a distant relative that can buy the property for 4.5 million???

  9. Uh I long for a brake like this. But while reading your story and watching your photo's delight came over me, and I took a deep deep breath. I'm off for my next workshop in about 30 min. so for 3 hours my head will belong just to me and my camera.
I'll put some goodies out here soon.
Hope you have a good week. Hugs D.

  19. sounds like bliss... i'm not a good deleter either, we now have a big screen tv which is hooked up to the computer and uses my pics for a screensaver when we're listening to music. it's a tad embarrassing when someone comes in and catches the few, well many that should be gone!!!!

  27. I TRY to delete...honest I do...
It is difficult for me to pick just a few photos I like the best to put on the blog or to make into a memory book...it isn't just picking the best photos but the most representative of the day...make sense?
    Love that first photo!
