thinking, wishing, wondering...

misty snapped this photo of me the other day
while we were waiting for our lunch
and
then with her amazing photoshop talent
{almost like watching her paint}
~a little of this and a little of that~
I now have
a photo of myself that I actually love
~~
and
now
I'm sorry
but with the start of october
I need a few days
of
thinking
and
wishing
and
wondering
and
maybe even some leaf pile jumping
and
that'll take some time and patience and understanding and long pants
~~
while I'm away
enjoy the sights of pumpkin patches and the smell of apple pies baking
and
the crisp air that only this month brings
~~
I'll be back soon
I promise
it won't be too long

  2. This is a wonderful photo. It is almost 1AM here in the San Francisco area and I'm up to my neck in clothes, shoes - trying to pack for my trip to Europe for my 65th birthday. I had resolved I would not stay up all night, yet here I am ( old habits die hard! ). Thankfully, I had enough miles for business class so I will fly fairly comfortably.

Enjoy a little break - I am gone two weeks.

  4. It's amazing to see what other artists "see", even more so when they are seeing us. Lovely photo. It is autumn, without a doubt. The days are a little shorter, the air is crisper and I, too, want to hibernate. *sigh* Enjoy it!

  9. That is a very nice photo. I love that she caught you in thought.

Last night was our first night of what I would call cooler weather. I think we are finally seeing the end of summer, even though the days are still warm.

Thank you for giving me the info on the art retreats. I did some research online and actually found several. There was one called Moose Mommas that sounds interesting. It's in Idaho. I also found one that's coming to Las Vegas in Feb. of 2010, however, they won't let you go to the classes unless you stay in the Paris Hotel or another hotel. I wouldn't want to do that though, when I live here.

Anyway, thank you for the help. I hope you have a nice break.

  10. Great reflective position on your part and great capture on hers :) It does look like watercolor paint... beautifully done.

Enjoy some time for reflection. Its October and I am feeling a bit of the fog starting to roll in making me want to hibernate... ugh :)

  12. Good for you for taking the time you need for you. I'm losing my resolve to pre-do posts to run during my three week wander. There seems to be so much excavation going on that I don't have the desire to work on the surface.

  17. You have such a lovely site!

I can't wait to catch up on your blog.

I have a Canon Rebel xSi and I love it :) When you are shopping for cameras make sure to get out there and actually hold them in your hand. Some will feel more comfortable than others.

Reflection. I'm reading about this in a lot of blogs and feeling the need myself to just crawl into a hole or soft sheets. One day at a time. I'm enjoying your "away" posts, always look forward to your return. Take care, my friend.
