so like, ummmm dude.....

"why do you want to take our pictures"
"i'm gonna leave my board at the bottom so i can get air for ya....are ya ready"
"why are we backwards"
"i call it a johnny hoppin"
"seriously dude...you want us to skate right at your face while you're sitting there"
~~
i love shooting people
~complete strangers~
especially in their own environment and
after the winter's dry spell
it was fantastic to be outside yesterday
~~
i headed to the skateboard park
which is kind of a scary place
but
once again
since i have a "wear my jeans low so you can see my boxers" teenager myself
who doesn't skate
they don't bother me
~~
they are always so curious as to why i want their photos
and
always cooperative to do anything i ask
~~
obviously
the skateboarding photos weren't enough for me
and
i had to have my
tried and true
jumping photos
that i started last year
~~
they were wonderful with my crazy wishes and laughing through each photo
and
then giving the ones who wouldn't jump
a hard time
~~
oh
thank you warm weather
for letting me breathe again

i recently re-discovered my florida beach jump shots from our trip down there last april. it made me feel all springy inside again.

nothing like a gorgeous day and some fun pictures to put a spring in your step!

  5. These shots are fantastic! You can see both the stillness and action together, neither compromising the other, just co-existing beautifully.

  24. You are totally down with that, Beth. We are cool like that together, you and me....

And, I do applaud your braveheart. Those skater kids can get kinda wild with their jumpin', and board swirlin' around....

  31. They are great shots, love the guy sitting not cooperating. They must think your nuts when you say, "Um, ok, I need you all to jump for me." Your a hoot. Great stuff.
I haven't gotten the guts to shoot strangers yet, at least while they know.

  34. I'm glad for our sake you got to breathe again.

and I agree about the being comfortable around beautiful young people.
I usually have assorted varieties coming and going , eating at our table, and these past few days, tanning in our backyard.
    Wouldn't trade it for anything.
