I have no words....

except
"oh lord"
"did we ever get dumped on last night"
~~
and
it's still coming down
and
are useless under these circumstances
~~
"fine"
~
"mother nature you win"
is that what you wanted to hear
~~
should I thank you for our fabulous november
or
flip you off for what you did to us last night
~~
all I know is that right now the only people liking you are the kids
since they're all home today
playing
~~
but
if the grumbling from all the adults could be heard by you
it would be deafening
~~
I'm just saying
*
this photo is from last year out at our cottage
and
I know the deer are there today
looking just like this
except today
they're eating out of the bird feeders
since we haven't given them their bucket of corn yet
~
good thing
my wild friends all know how to share

  2. She is hitting here as we speak...watching it coming down, I started a conversation with my hubby man about isn't it time to start looking for a new job, one where he is used more to his potential, one where he feels like he is listened too, and most of all one in a climate where we don't have to spend 6 monthsof every single year fighting against that Mother Nature chick ? (JP Morgan Chase has a big office in Tampa, FLA that is looking so very good right about now !!!)...
In spite of a kind of pmsy mood, I am working really hard to see the grace in things today... like you did when you took that gorgeous picture...grace ? It is Wednesday and David is working from home, we have fresh pumpkin and colon blow muffins baking and I have the whole day to play in my studio since it is too ugly out to go xmas shopping...now that is some grace !
Big Love to you, beautiful Beth. We will meet at the beach asap !

  3. We have the wind and bitter cold, high of -26 with wind chill... but the snow missed us entirely!! I'm still staying home today especially since the kids ARE in school here, but I am turning my light box on and dreaming of sunshine :)

  4. We are getting blasted here in Northwest Wisconsin too. Wind gusts are now around 35-40 mph.

I'm trying to build my confidence this morning and step outside to take a few photos of the blizzard....I'm still just thinking about it as I'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee!!!!!!

I'm so glad I don't have to go to work today.

  5. SNEAUX!!!

(woot!)(sorry, but the mere sight of it makes me giddy ... it's a dirty job, delighting in sneaux, but somebody's gotta do it!)

  7. We are getting a slushy mess of a first snow.
Not really a beautiful moment to capture.

  8. I wish you were here with me Beth...you would love to be taking pictures and you'd forget all about the "ugliness" of the storm. The kids are outside playing...Liv is wearing her swim goggles to keep the snow out of her eyes and looks hilarious. The pine trees are GORGEOUS and the men are working hard. As for me, I am taking pictures, drinking coffee with peppermint cocoa mixed in, and I am baking "Hearty Breakfast Cookies"....I know they'll all be hungry when they come in. Wish you were here!!

  9. We're happy dancing in MA because of the snow day. Supposed to change over to rain, but it doesn't look like that's happening. The deer are so beautiful.

  15. Oh, my gosh, that dear photo is beautiful. It is cold enough here in the San Francisco area this morning, I kind of expect I could see deer munching on rose bushes outside! Actually, there are still a few deer nearby but, gradually, the house building is pushing them away from Pacifica. I see them on the golf course, occasionally, when I drive by.

  21. It's been really cold here too, and snowed on the mountain behind my house the other night. It's still a distance away, but a sight to see.

This is one of the cutest deer pictures I've ever seen. I like that you captured the one deer's tongue. So cute.

  22. We just have very cold, but no snow. A few snow days are always fun because it forces us to slow down and play. I hope you have time to play today.

The deer look like they liked the corn and posed just for you.

  23. sweet little deer. oh deer me, i bet they would love some corn now.

i'm not jealous of your snow - i don't like snow very much - except to look at while i'm drinking a nice hot buttered rum or the like. today, the sun is shining and the sky is a glorious shade of blue. it will get cold and i will whine about it being in the 50s during the day. i bet you would trade me.

  24. Love it!!! Sorry... - I'm not used to snow!
