it rained. it finally rained, and
i don't ever remember appreciating it like this before.
we actually woke up early just to watch it.
it's that time of year again. hello seniors.
this beautiful girl was so much fun to work with. due to the heat and a time constraint {she had to get her braces back on} i did this shoot in two parts. with the temps staying in the nineties, i asked my favorite antique shop if we could shoot inside and they said, "of course." so we played around and had the best time. luck was on my side when we found a "one" and a "three" in a pile of old metal numbers.
shooting outside is my absolute favorite place to be...but you already knew that. natural light is a gift and when you combine that with a slight breeze, well hello beautiful.
senior photos on a disc...wrapped and ready to be picked up.
have any of you updated the firmware on your camera before? i've not ever done it, but just found out how important it is to do. after reading the instructions though, which seemed greek to me and a bit scary {which can happen when i see the words "download" and "file"} i found out that my local camera shop will do this for me. {thank god} i just felt the need to put this information out there since this was all new news to me and i love to keep everyone in the loop.
we're getting rain today too. it's been thundering, lightning & raining all morning, :) after the heatwave we've had i've been appreciating rain more too. your pictures are so lovely. looks like you two had a great time inside/ out. flowers are beautiful. have a great day~
ReplyDeleteI have never updated my camera's firmware. Sounds like a daunting task--like yesterday sorting tax receipts. No fun!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos of the flowers and the senior! Looks like you will have one satisfied customer. :)
Beth, these are gorgeous. What a beautiful girl and her photos show her at her fresh, youthful best. I don't know what firmware is. I'll google it. xo Jenny
ReplyDeleteglad for your rainfall happiness
ReplyDeleteand those lucky seniors:)
-Jennifer
Oh.. no, I had no idea about updating camera firmware.. humm. Thanks for that info. Must look into that.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a pretty girl. And what a great location for the shoot.
I just updated my camera's firmware last week because I'm on the cutting edge when it comes to photographic knowledge, especially when it comes to knowing everything there is to know about my DSLR.
ReplyDeleteI fib a lot, too. You need to be aware of this fact.
Gorgeous senior pics!
Congratulations on the rain - I know that feeling of relief! Beautiful photos and I don't even know what firmware is! YIKES! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSouth Florida has had some major rains, thunders, and lightning. My dog is not happy ;-) These photos are beautiful and she has this honest, bright smile.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous shots! I think we all love a rain more this year - and are open to seeing a little more.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, I am all the way South, in North Miami. We had a real "bad" storm 2 nights ago. The thundering was so powerful and loud. It's been a long time since I've seen such weather. It was amazing though. I slept like a baby. I love the panhandle. The farthest north I have been going to the past couple years is Vero Beach, where my sister-in-law lives.
ReplyDeleteThe way you package your work for your clients is divine!
ReplyDeleteChristine beat me to it, but I was thinking the same thing. Love that packaging! I would want two CDs. One to open and one to keep packaged up all pretty like that.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics of her, too. She looked lovely AND cool in those shots!
She is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStill dry as a bone here. Lots of near-misses. This weekend, I'm going to try a rain dance :)
Thinking of you. xoxo
I have never even heard of updating the firmware on a camera! Yikes! What am I missing!
ReplyDeleteLove these senior pictures...lovely girl!
you take such amazing photos :)
ReplyDeleteHi there Beth. Great to be in blogland again. And falling in love with your fist and last picture. Amazing how you can transform beauty into more beatiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd back to working with seniors again are you. Great shots. Bet she'll love them.
Happy rainy day. You should just have asked me I could have send you buckets full with them We didn't had any sun yet and july as already flew by. ugh.
Hugs Dagmar
uh oh .. no idea how you do this update .. going to Google it now . Google is my friend .. fabulous fotos
ReplyDeleteHi Beth! Yes it rained here last night and I loved it!!! Sadly- what a novelty it was! As for the update- do all cameras need it? Not sure what it is.... And I wish I lived closer to you-- I would have ued you for Molly's Senior portraits last year- as usual- those are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of "firmware". What does it do? Why is it necessary?
ReplyDeleteThis senior is just beautiful, so you had greatness to start with. Beautiful photos, as always.
Gorgeous photos, Beth. How lucky to have you as her photographer! It rained here, too. Loved every second!
ReplyDeleteEven though this is monsoon season in India, rain is very deficient. I've heard that monsoon rains will be 70% less this year, a real tragedy for farmers. Here in Jaipur, where I am living, the monsoons were due to arrive with me on June 23rd when I came. It's rained about 2 days. One day, the temperatures reached 109 degrees.
ReplyDeleteThis lovely young lady is so fortunate to have been photographed by you. What a natural beauty!
Braces back on??? Did they take them off just for her pictures? WOW!
