anyone who knows me
will tell you that it's next to impossible for me to not smile
so
when i decided yesterday
that i was going off in search of spring
since it's not coming to me
i had to dress for the role
no smile
{as i was in work mode with a job in front of me}
boots
scarf
aviators
all add up to and equal
my bad ass self
immediately i found a yard full of these dancing blue flowers
and
i smiled
then there was this purple bud
and
this totally cool bud
standing proud like the olympic torch
these little white flowers caught my eye
since there were hundreds of them
and
this fuzzy wuzzy was a bear
bud
was waving at me
fungi
or whatever you call this
{it looks like seashells hanging on for dear life to me}
isn't necessarily springy
but
i loved it
and
to find tulips someplace other than the flower section at whole foods
well
let me tell you what a treat that was
this bud looks similar to the purple one above
but
it was different
~
maybe they're relatives
and
now i want to go back and steal this planter
~
i pretty much love her
~
and
look
she's not smiling
~
i guess she's a bad ass planter

ReplyDeleteBad ass selves are awesome at finding beauty ;-)
ReplyDeletesome terrific finds ....
ReplyDeleteHey, sometimes you just gotta get your groove on with your bad ass self. And that bass ass planter is just frowning, not even smirky.
ReplyDeleteHa ha... spring is harder to find here under all the snow, but I should go try to look for it too, um, I just need a camera that sees what yours does :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Must have been a pleasant walk. I find it hard to believe you kept yourself smile free with all that beauty in your lens.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the snow last night was probably enough to wipe the smile clear gone, eh? ;0)
Beth...this is a bad ass post!! and oh what gorgeous little blooms you have shared with us...THANK YOU for yo Bad Ass Self!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you found spring! Maybe if I turn into a bad ass, it'll come back here and stay awhile!
ReplyDeleteYou're one bad ass photographer. I love that tender blue flower snapped from behind. And the planter looks like she belongs on the Statue of Liberty. Perhaps she needs to be holding some of those torch flowers.
ReplyDeleteYou are so freaking cool! ( is your hair in a ponytai?) can't tell you how much I appreciate that and all the beauty you share.
ReplyDeletethanks for the springy giggles:):):)
