it doesn't matter
if the tips are dull or sharp
or
you don't have the right colors
or
the only paper you have is an old napkin
or
you can't spell very well
~
all that matters
is that you write what's in your heart
and
share it with somebody you love
or
gently tuck those words safely between the pages of your journal
so you can find them years later
~~
really
all that matters
is that you write
*
happy weekend
everybody
So true Beth!! And I love love love the photo! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI write on napkins all the time. Sketch ideas on them...but I rarely save them. Guess I shouldn't throw them away. It is truly a conversation with myself!

Hmmm, I just finished writing in my journal - a few lines while my computer booted up, which is kind of my little routine. You were up early writing too, Beautiful One !
ReplyDeleteThis morning I wrote about abundance...I am doing a purge/organize of my art supplies and I realize how abundant they are. I love my toys - especially when they are at finger tips and ready to go. Would I save them if the house was on fire ? Maybe not - the art journals yes...but you can be sure I would be at the Michaels with a coupon asap to replace them! I feel so blessed for all the good things I've got, my friend. I really am so very blessed.
I hope your weekend is abundant with juicy stuff too, Lovely Beth !
Yes - I like that. Just write!!!
ReplyDeleteWriting everyday is a way of life for me. I can't even imagine not writing. Even when I don't feel like writing I still do it. You are so right Beth...writing comes straight from the heart for most of us.
ReplyDeleteI've been journaling for over 25 years..and when I started blogging(in hopes of spreading the word about my art) it quickly became a new form of expression,a new canvas,a new place to come and feel at home.I am grateful today for all the wonderful words that surround me,..in my journals,in my blog,on my wall,in my head.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post.
Warmest Regards,Cat
so very true. xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a soft picture. Dreamy. Writing is so good for us. Hope your weekend is everything you would want it to be.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the affermation! I just started journaling again, although this time it's a combo art, life journal. The art makes me want to do it. Hopefully this time it will stich.

Use words we tell our children. Funny that sometimes we need the reminder ourselves. Beautiful picture -- hope you find time to write this weekend!
ReplyDeletevery lovely thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI love this. So true. Enjoy your weekend...Kathy
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, and it's true.
ReplyDeleteperfectly said!
ReplyDeleteok, so I love love love this post.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!
i wish i had your GIFT of words. i struggled today to find the words to express my sadness over the oil spill.....i may have to express myself through a painting.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you sweet , Beth.
ReplyDeletemay if be filled with vibrant colours , uplifting words and light filled memories.
You are so inspirational, you know. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have come across anyone quite like you who can make photos of everyday things become so beautiful. I love this photo of colouring in pencils!
ReplyDeleteI love to write. I don't always write on my blog, but I do write every day. I either write in my journal or I write letters to people I know. I'm always writing little words of inspiration that come to me on sticky notes. I find that my words often come to me while I'm driving so I have notes all over the place with sentences that just pop into my head.
ReplyDeleteI love your photo. I think it is very soothing and prompts creativity.
Thanks for the reminder...I don't write enough... Hope you are having a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow did you know I've been a "Pro"crastinator?
ReplyDeleteI must say, Beth, I agree 100% with you on that one ( actually, I rarely, if ever, am not in 100% agreement with you! ). Because of my constant writing, I was finally able to get out that poetry book of my dreams. I actually have enough poems for a second volume but I'll wait on that to see if anyone buys the first. I've gotten two nice reviews on it thus far but it isn't selling like hot cakes so I don't think it's ever going to be Oprah's selection of the month or make the NY Times Best Seller List. To have it published is personally satisfying to me, though, and I guess that's really what matters!
ReplyDeleteAt 65, I've done it! My poetry book - Life's Journey by Carmen Henesy - is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

This post really struck a chord...thanks, Beth for the lovely & gentle reminder. I've been writing so much more now that I'm blogging and I'm realizing I've called back a part of me that used to scribble in sketchbooks and on all sorts of bits of paper (like you mentioned) and I really liked that person...
ReplyDeleteThis bloggy world is quite the wonderful place :>}
Hope you're having a great weekend, too!
Amen! This is my exact feeling every single day, and I love the way you've said it here, Beth. xoxo Gigi
ReplyDeletei wish i could find my writing voice again. it's been really quiet lately. it seems to not want to return from vacation. hope all is well.
ReplyDeletelately, it feels to me that that is exactly the truth. and i feel home.
ReplyDeleteVery true! I have a journal sitting here by my computer and another in my purse, many words are entered there.
