today is my mom's birthday
she's 69
i'm meeting her for lunch in a few hours
~
someday i want a crooked fence
just like the one above
~
it's pink
i mean really. come on. a pink fence. does it get any better than that.
and
see the little red berries growing in front of it
~
i want those
too
~
that's not too much to ask for
is it
~
i just bought the new
droid incredible
yesterday
and
i'm trying to figure out what's so incredible
about it
~
it does everything
but
honestly
today
i had to call myself on it
from my home phone
just to figure out how to answer it
~
it is a phone
right
~
i hope your friday is filled with
love and silly things
all day long

Cool, a pink fence. Nice picture. I can understand you wanting a fence just like that one.
ReplyDeleteLOL call yourself? fun.
ReplyDeletelove that cattle gate. and the blackberries. you have to go back and pick them.
happy birthday beth's mom! xo
happy birthday to your mom!
ReplyDeletei have an unsmart phone. it just calls people and lets people call me. from time to time it sends and receives texts. my friend says it's obsolete.
i think that a pink fence with berries growing nearby is a very smart fence indeed. incredible, actually.
Your pink fence suggests a great day for a birthday party!
ReplyDeleteThat pink fence is marvelous, and I don't even like pink very much.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your mother. I hope you have a lovely time out together. My mum died when she was 58 and I was in my 30s. Then you perhaps know that my daughter died in an accident when she was 21. I really feel that I have been diddled out of cool mother/daughter stuff! You enjoy! xxx
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Mom, Have a great lunch, I hope you get to do silly things. have a great weekend Beth, take care. I do have a pink fence, not all of it, some...I will have to post it. and yes I painted it. lol.
ReplyDeleteLove and silly things. What a wonderful thing to wish for someone!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your mom ~~
Happy Birthday to your mom, I hope lunch was great.
ReplyDeleteBeing color blind, didn't pick up the pinkness of the fence, but loved the shot anyway.
Little pink fences for you and me...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty.
A droid is a phone I think, or maybe they are sly aliens here to take us over one technologically challenged human at a time... ;)
Happy Friday !
Beth, I was feeling a bit blue today, for today my own Mother would have been 78yrs old. But immediately upon reading your post, my heart warmed just knowing today was also your Mothers Birthday ~ so please give her a hug and kiss for me. My Mother loved to oil paint, and would love all your pictures, and I am sure she would have loved your fence today. Thank you, you always cheer me with your gift of pictures and words, Mary Lou
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your mom! Hope you had a wonderful day- pink fence and all!
ReplyDeleteyep, pink fence and berries. that about sums "it" up for me.

ReplyDeletesmiling at the thought of you calling yourself... because that is exactly the kind of thing i woud do too.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your mother, and I love that pink fence!
ReplyDeleteYou've been tagged by me, stop by my blog tomorrow since I'm not posting the taggy thingy until tomorrow!

Do I dare admit I don't know what a droid incredible is? But it must be incredible. Now I have to google it.
ReplyDeleteWell at least you figured out how to answer it! Love the fence, love even more that you found it and made is so beautiful.
ReplyDeletei love your blog! just discovered you through talk at the table. it's a very cool pink fence. i would want one too. except i hate the color pink :) i will be back to visit, if that's okay. e.
ReplyDeletehavent been by for a while. Hope you had a good lunch with your mom!
ReplyDeleteI agree, sometimes technology can definitely be over-rated!
BTW, can you make my blog look awesome??? I am trying to figure out how to make my pictures bigger! UGH.
It's a very pretty pink fence. Don't ask me about phone technology as my phone is so old, I just don't see the point in upgrading it as I only use it to make calls and text.
ReplyDeletehope you had a great mom-daughter lunch! and, you'll need to let me know if you like the Droid!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to mom! And I hope you are enjoying your summer days. An immense thank you for holding the door open....
ReplyDeletehappy BD to your mom,Beth.
ReplyDeleteand I like that fence ;))
have a beautiful weekend
I love silly things. A pink fence with berries, how special. Happy birthday to your mom!
ReplyDeleteI hop eyour mom had a fabulous birthday, and I'm sure she did - how could she not with you nearby, pointing out pink fences & dreaming of red berries strolling along their tops?
ReplyDeleteAnd PS - I admit to not getting the whole new phone thing, the waiting in line for the new iPhone (or however they spell it). I love my little Impression, I love the pix it takes, but seriously, the phone before it, the less-good picture phone, was easier to deal with. :) Life is hard enough without one button that does 100 things depending on the way you push it.
xoxo

Happy Birthday to your mom!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted a Droid! Guess I will wait awhile until all the bugs are worked out!!
Hugs
SueAnn
Wishing your Mom a wonderful birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that pink fence. I wonder who got the idea to use that color :-)
Happy weekend,
jj
I'm with you - I understand that fence and those berries better than technology! Happy B-day to Mom!
ReplyDeleteYour world is so colorful. I have yet to stumble across a pink fence. And happy birthday to your mom!
ReplyDeleteBeth...Tell your Mom thank you for birthing you, so I can come to know you here! Have a lovely day! and oh, now I have pink fence envy!
ReplyDeleteSo laughing near you on this one. I just got a new phone, too. But, a cosmos, not a droid. I did have to get Jeffrey to call me - twice - before I could answer the silly thing. I'm a texting maniac now, though. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the fence!..Love my iphone:)...and love to your mom on her birthday!...Just realizing I'm much closer to your mom's age than yours and liking how I have gotten to be "friends" with people of all ages through blogging...
ReplyDeleteI love silly things, pink fences and send your mom belated birthday joy!
