find your light...

with the shorter days of fall calling my name.
i walk. i look. i shoot.
i never use the flash on my camera. we are not friends.
the sun and i are friends though. she dances in the woods teasing me so i play her game.
finding her makes me smile. she's such an artist.
~
if you have time, try this. walk down the dark paths of a park while the sun is brilliant and try to find where it's been able to sneak in. you can't miss it. not at this time of the year.

  4. Great invitation. There's a little woodland park not far from my house that I've never stopped at, though the trails have beckoned. The sun's out, the sky is blue. Why not? (Not to mention my verification word: latersee)

  5. I will try this some day after we move and find new places to explore there. I have been using my camera more lately. You have captured a light more than just the sun shining through.

  16. geez beth.
    I so heart you.
I went out today in the deep of the forest, and see that the flash kind of ruined most of my shots. oh well.
but it makes me incredibly happy to see that we both did the same thing.
unless you took these photos a different day, but still.

    thank you for the tip.
    I needed another outside day.

  21. Fall is the perfect time of year to take pictures of nature. I did not find any leaves or bugs this weekend but I did find a wonderful cabin filled with love. :) Like you, I do not use flash... only because I always forget about it. :)

  26. all your photos make me think of late yesterday afternoon when I saw Simon sitting in a small spot of light in our media room, luckily I had the camera and took shots. The edges of his fur were illuminated and his body was surrounded by the darkness of the room in late afternoon light.

    Great shots!

  34. I love so much that light is constantly changing, constantly surprising, if you are open to its language.
Why do they put flash on cameras anyway? Nothing can imitate the sun.
