ten-ten-ten

we spent yesterday hiking at devil's head lake
~
let me just say
wow
this is just part of it
and
we hiked/walked around the entire lake.
~
i have so many photos to share with you. everything from kids swimming to rock skipping to two weddings to just pure fabulousness. all from an 85 degree day which broke a record set back in 1879.
oh october 2010. i will remember you.
~
and
who knew that lady asian beetles bite. like really bite. one of them had a field day on my upper chest when he got caught under my shirt and i didn't know it.
oh well
~
it was still a perfect day
and
that was only
10-9-10
~
i wonder what
10-10-10
will bring
~
kind of exciting
isn't it

Good morning Beth, It is so nice to see you! You should try to include yourself more into your writings and photos, you deserve the glory. Happy Sunday, I pray it is a good one for you and yours.

Looks lovely : )
I went out this morning and took 265 photos of the trees in their autumn splendor. Photography is addictive like that, isn't it?

Ladybugs of any kind carnivores (something has to eat aphids), so, the inside of your shirt probably seemed like being on Mars... fortunately, they're not like mosquitoes.
:D

Ooh, Asian lady beetles hurt like the dickens! I had one crawl up my pant leg once while I was walking to class in college and it did a number on me! I feel for ya!

That looks like a divine day! Thanks for sharing the picture! :o)

A beautiful lake for sure, and that was quite the hike. Sounds like you had the perfect day for it.

I love hiking in the Fall, though your temps were like hiking in Summer. That must have seemed strange for you Northerners.

Beautiful! I hope you're okay from that beetle bite...

I just realized today is 10-10-10! Thanks for the reminder.

Sorry about the bug bites :-(

it looks like it's beautiful in your neighborhood. The photos are gorgeous-- so are you!

Cheers, jj

For me, 10-10-10 brought an afternoon of film festival, including Free World (about the peace movement and Hiroshima/Nagasaki reconciliation), Do No Harm about a doctor and CPA who exposed how little charity care non-profits provide and how they price gouge those least able to pay, and Pope Joan about the female pope of the 9th Century who the church basically wrote out of its history.

And writing an advice piece on for nannies dealing with obnoxious dads, and blogging, and being glad that the Seahawks had a bye today so I didn't plop myself down to watch pro football.

And then laughing my head off at my verification word - horsespa. Can't you just imagine the size of the massage tables? And what music would be piped in?

I read this morning and had no chance to comment, the phone began to ring and things began to happen, but this afternoon I took a short walk through my neighborhood and thought of you, thought of your post with the sunlight tipping the plants, thought of that as i realized i should be walking away from the soon to be setting sun if i actually wanted to be able to see anything, and i took, oh, 15 shots, and i laughed, thinking of you finding pictures everywhere. so not me today. LOL!

you are as cute as a button!

Wasn't this weekend the best ever? I've never seen the trees so ablaze, the lake so blue. I'm glad it was memorable to you, too.

i was in the Adirondacks this weekend, not record-breaking warmth but sunny and 70, so quite wonderful...can't wait to see the rest of the shots.
and yes, those darn lady beetles, they have gotten me quite a few times now, ouch!

I would just love hiking around a beautiful lake like this one. The water is so beautiful in Wisconsin.

Lady asian beetles? Are they like ladybugs? Do you feel the bite? Are the bites itchy like a mosquito bite? How curious.
What a gorgeous thing you are! I love the soft light in your hair.
