the birds and the bees....

and
the butterflies
~
well the birds are still flitting away with the knowledge that winter is fast approaching, but the bees and the butterflies are moving slowly. almost standing still. so if you tried this summer to photograph either of them with your macro lens, go out now and find them.
i promise you they will cooperate
*
this was just taken on tuesday and the sun was brilliant. i actually toned down the brightness of this photo in order to appreciate the droplet of liquid on her tongue.
*
and
lucky me
i had another terrific "let's meet in real life" blogger luncheon with two fantastic women who live really really close to me. i'm actually off to see juliette today since she is participating in the area artist's studio weekend, where they open up their studios to the public.

you always manage to get such detail in your macros...i mean really minute detail... fantastic. Do you use a tripod or just have a steady hand?
