hopefully sextuplets
if all goes well
~~
and
now that I have your full attention
let me tell you about my babies by showing you some really sucky photos
~~
because of my sister and our love for anything living and the fact that she lives in the country with milk weed plants
we are both going to be new mommas
~quadruplets for her~
~~
she hasn't had any strange food cravings yet
while I think my need for chocolate has increased a bit
and
surprisingly we both look slim
with our due dates only 12 days away
~well approximately of course~
~~
I'm working on names at the moment
and
decorating the nursery
~otherwise known as the screened in porch~
and
basically
just putting my feet up and relaxing
~~
snort
belly laugh
~~
I know
what's the big deal
?
everyone has seen monarch butterflies and if you've seen one you've seen them all
but
I've never started with a caterpillar and watched it morph into a chrysalis
while living in a cool whip container with a terrible make shift lid
and
I've never had to scramble to save two that didn't "hang tight" and are now super glued
to a shish kabob stick
~~
but I am now
and
I can't wait to see the end result
~~
I just hope they don't have my nose
taken with my little point and shoot
~hopefully some better photos soon of all six of them~
I've never done this but would love to see a butterfly in the making. How fun! I'm sure we'll be seeing some pretty great pictures of your little babies soon.
ReplyDeleteKeep your feet up; take naps when needed, and remember that you're eating for... how many was it?!
how exciting! cant wait to see the babies! have you thought of names yet? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. Congratulations I await their arrival. I expect details such as name, weight and length when they are born.
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea! i cant wait to see your babies!
ReplyDeleteYOU~ get into the most amazing things. Honestly...
ReplyDeleteWELL, you know you got me with that title...looks like great fun! looking forward to photos as things progress.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations are in order for your little "family!" Can't wait to see the "babies!"
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Can't wait to see the birth announcements and newborn pictures! Do you plan on having them wear those funny looking little caps? Have a great day- it's like late October down here (minus the beautiful colors). How is it up there? Any snow? haha
ReplyDeletei am soooo excited. my daughter and i raised butterflies from eggs. we had so many that we shared with the local preschool classes.
ReplyDeleteyou've got to post again when they emerge from their chrysalis.
oooh, we have done this a few times, so wonderful to watch them break out of their golden / transparent case and start drying off their wings...and then they take off... SO FREAKING AMAZING! makes me want to run to the nearest milkweed and get some little babies of our own... i am feeling fertile, too!
ReplyDeleteBUT on the other hand, last week jade found an american dagger moth caterpillar and was playing with it, it was cute, i loved it, too, but turns out he is allergic, his little arm broke out where the caterpillar was... :( at least monarchs are safe! :)
hope your labor is a smooth one! wish i could be there to get you ice chips.
xoxo
LOL you clever girl. Love this and I can't wait to see the babies.
ReplyDeleteOh, you lucky mama! thank you for sharing your little ones, I LOVE caterpillars and the magical transformation...

You're such a good mother. Until I met you, "Kate" was the only person I knew with sextuplets. Will the baby monarchs have their own reality show? I luv a post that makes me smile and this one did just that. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSuper cool! I can't wait for the first steps (er, flights).
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I cannot wait to see the developments! I love that last shot.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted mama!
That was too funny, had me going for a moment, very cool though, and chrysalis, i thought a new car too. LOL. Have fun, c
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments on my blog :) Funny post - yucky looking things but I look forward to seeing their transformation.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is a big deal. It is a very big deal. When watching a miracle becomes common place, all is lost.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! My grandson would love this as his preschool class raised several last spring for their butterfly garden. I will have to show him your photos.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, this looks like so much fun. This reminds me of the time when we raised silkworms.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! It also reminded me of silkworm cycles as a child... Can't wait to see your babies... :)
ReplyDeleteoh, what fun. can't wait to see those beautiful wings...
ReplyDeletehow exciting. i can't wait to see your babies.
ReplyDeletecute and clever post : )
nothing like a good science experiment...xo
ReplyDeleteThat's just freakin' awesome! I laughed and laughed when I read down through the comments. I especially liked the one about wearing the little caps.
ReplyDeleteooh, Beth, this is SO COOL ... my bro Chris, and Ciera, did this, and man oh man our hearts were all in our throats when the butterflies emerged ... and we had a 'set them free' party, too ...
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? I've never seen anything like this up close. Awesome!
