I hope you don't mind...

meadow girl

blinded by the light

no boots
but
I have to share
~~
once again
I was blessed with another senior who went along with all that I asked of her
and
was a doll the entire time
~~
because this was a new setting for me
there were so many angles to try out
so many lighting options that threw me off
so many great backdrops to use as a base
that I didn't know when to stop
~~
the heat finally got the best of us
and
now I sit here editing 400 plus photos down into a manageable number
like
200
because
when you have a beauty like the sweetheart above
how do you say
"eww, not that one"
and
toss it aside
?
you just can't

{and a huge thank you to my daughter who was my assistant and did an amazing job}

  1. I can't imagine sifting through these to find any "bad" ones.... THESE are gorgeous, and YOU are a gifted photographer! I love all three, but there's something extra special about the one in the barn or shed with her standing on the truck....

  2. WOW! You are rocking the senior portraits! Where were you when I graduated. I had mile high hair and sat in a studio...typical corny 80's picture. Although I do get a good laugh when I look at it! *snort*

  3. Wow, another gorgeous girl. Love the first pic amongst the flowers. You have such a tough job!

Just wanted you to know you got a little mention in my most recent post, and a link to your post "because nice matters" ... and then when I went back and checked your post again, and the comments, I was really glad that I mentioned you coz I noticed you had a nasty anonymous caller. Hope it hasn't affected your week. Keep on rocking the viewfinder ,,,, or TFT screen, or whatever they call them these days on those new-fangled contraptions.

  4. So, another young person who will love her senior pictures years from now because she had a great person to work with who took the time to capture things correctly.

    Nice job, Beth.

  8. as my sons keep telling me (over. and over. and over. and over.), "There's just one gorgeous girl after another, Mom. How are we supposed to pick just one?" [to which I reply, "Dudes, in my opinion you are WAY too young to be doing the 'pick just one' ...'thing ... " & I leave it at that.

what kinds of things does your daughter/assistant do for you?

  9. My favorite is the last one, Beth.

I get the feeling it shows the most of her personality.

I think that is your gift, Beth. Be it birds, old abandoned houses, or beautiful young ladies, you can capture the souls of them. You can really see them for who they are.

That's what I like about you...
(now that song will be stuck in your head, won't it?)

  14. I noticed that more and more young people are opting for the "natural" looking senior photos, instead of the traditional ones. It's a great thing, and you absolutely ROCK at it!

  18. Beth, I am loving all of these gigs your getting, and the results are so great! YAY!
And even better the models let you be the artist you want to be and experiment, I love that!
    I bet she LOVES these.
We need to talk editing, I feel ya on that. I do the same thing! I try and get it down to a reasonable number also, but it can be so hard.

  19. How do you get such photogenic subjects? Something tells me it has to do with how you work with them, let them feel natural. Very nice.
