you can wear a tutu, too.....

after i wrote this post

"i want to make you a red tutu for your birthday"

i said
"oh deb, that would be amazing"

but
what was really amazing
was dancing in a field
in a red tutu
on my birthday

while my hubby smiled and took photos of me

and
what would a birthday be without a jump
*
now here's the fun part
and
even though i haven't asked deb, i know she'll love this idea.
~
i want to pass this tutu on. i want to send this red birthday tutu to someone else who believes that dancing in a red tutu on their birthday sounds like fun. if you think you're that person, leave a comment saying
"hell yes. i'll dance in a red tutu"
and
by the end of the week, i'll draw a name.
~
and
when your birthday's over and you're done dancing
you'll need to share your photos with us and then pass the tutu on again.
~
i mean really
life's just too short NOT to dance in a red tutu on your birthday
right
*
also
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
everyone
for all the amazing birthday wishes and blessings
~
you guys
are
THE BEST
and
made me feel like a princess

  1. HA... I have a tutu photo somewhere too... must post one day as a repeat on my blog. I don't think there's a girl out that that does not love a tutu at any age in life.

    Red is good!

  2. I would LOVE to wear a red tutu on my birthday and twirl and jump for joy with glee!!! Passing it on to others who want to share in that joy has given me an amazing idea!!! How wonderful of Deb to do this for you...you look amazing in these photos...and can I say we'd all be just a little disappointed if you didn't have a "jump" shot!!t

  7. Oh I love these photos and the red tutu. The one of you jumping in the tutu just made me smile from ear to ear. I dance in my pink tutu whenever possible and will dance again when my birthday comes along. But on the same note it would be fun to pass a red tutu on to others to dance. The Tutu Tradition begins!

  12. I must have hit the wrong button on my comment... it deleted itself :( There are just some days blogger is more of a challenge than others... Anyhoo... I think EVERYONE should dance in a red (or green, or pink, or yellow, or blue, or purple... ) tutu for their birthday. I'm putting it on my list of things to do to celebrate next time mine comes around!

    You look wonderful in it!

  41. You, my dear friend, are so amazing and inspiring! I love, love, love that you danced on your birthday in a red tutu. Last year for my birthday I wore a pink one :0) It was so fun to do. I love that your husband smiled on and photographed you while you did this. And to pass this tutu on...what an amazing idea. Of love the thought of sharing so much joy through one red tutu and a couple of photographs. My heart feels so happy reading this.

  42. ~HELL YES~ I will dance naked in a field on my birthday...oh yea, except for sporting the red tutu...and oh my what a thrill since it will be JANUARY...brrr...I love a challenge! ~oh what fun~ I remember challenging you to do this back when we were in Seaside...I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. xoxoxo

  43. Beth, You always make me smile. And today, well you brought tears to my eyes too. I took ballet for a short time after my first daughter was born, always wanting to be a dancer... And then life took over, and between working, and raising my girls on my own well,... dancing took the back burner. So I danced with my girls, and a vacuum;)
I used to run and do many things before my spinal surgery. I can still walk, Thank God, and my dancing is slow now, but I can do that too to certain degrees.
My Birthday is April 3rd, I'm not too sure you would want to wait that long, but I would dance for you. Of course, I would have to take my tri-pod in the mountains and find a remote field some place where I could find my nerve, but I would for you. Happy Birthday, you looked absolutely beautiful on your day. And I pray this year brings you much joy, and many blessings.

  44. I'm simply loving the red tutu AND your generous spirit of sharing the gift so that others can experience that freedom as well. I've been searching for a new something to look forward to and work toward. This post has fired my imagination. I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon your blog. I will be back. BTW: Seems like I'm another January baby. No need to put my name in the hat..... But rest assured that I will be twirling and spinning with all of you in spirit. God bless. And God bless your sweet husband for snapping those shots.

  45. A very belated happy birthday and warm wishes for a delightful and joyous year in which dreams come true.

My 67th birthday is coming up October 3 ( and, hopefully, I'll be headed to India for 6 months shortly after ). I would dance in a red tutu on my birthday but it would have to be an obesity plus size and I would be able to do any leaping into the air, with my ample arse and arthritis - though I might jump down a stair!

  46. Hell Yes I would wear it...since I have never really accomplished any impulsive thing...well except for shopping I always impulse buy...which is bad!!! anyway, I don't do, "flying by the seat of my pants" very well. So to dance on my birthday in a red tutu would be defiantly stepping outside the box....so if in March anyone wants to send it to me...I would have too dance with it on!!!

  47. hell yes. =) This is incredible. Really. I'm grinning so big and can't think of a blessed thing to say other than yes and wow and incredible. =)

  50. Deb,

    I LOVE this post!

And the red tutu....you look just perfect! What a lovely way to spend a birthday.

I'd love to dance in that tutu but my birthday is in March and I'd rather someone use it now, it needs to be danced in.

    Happy Belated Birthday to you!
