i walk slowly and listen. then i whisper my dreams quietly to the wind.
~
the day i took these photos, early signs of fall reached out and gently touched me.
right now fall, who moved in last weekend with just a few bags,
lives on the damp, tree covered side of the pond.
but
don't be fooled. summer is still shaking her groove thing on the sunny side.
~
the birds seem to have disappeared and have been replaced with hundreds of dragonflies. but to be honest with you, i like the birds better. at least they have a personality.
i don't recommend shooting straight into the sun. ever. but late in the day, if you hold your camera just right, you can capture the sun without burning your retinas. honest. you can.
and
for some reason, every time i end up with sun filled photos, they're my favorite.
for at least a day or two.

these are beautiful. and different. and i like them too. :)
the fragility of a late-summer's day ...
Glorious light! Love it. I am finally seeing signs of fall because the sun is setting earlier. Wish the temps would cool down just a bit. That's the kind of sign I'd like to see...feel...right now. :)
I love the sense of mystery in these photos.
I never mind looking into the sun -- so long as I don't look too hard, shoot fast but carefully. THey aren't always the best, but those photos carry a meaning all their own.
I love it when you write like this. It's so soothing and comforting. Those sun shots are great. They remind me of a vintage pattern. Yum!
Careful. I did burn my retina and am blind in my central vision in my right eye. It just took one second. xo Jenny
I can feel fall too. I can't wait :)
I never tried it...I am hoping for some sun tomorrow to see how it will work :-)
Your sun filled photos are terrific!

My favorite is the first. I just love shots from that perspective.
Gorgeous

I'm so happy that Fall is starting to inch it's way closer to us. Beautiful images, I love taking a walk with you.
Beautiful photos! We are starting to see fall, but summer is still holding on tight tho.
purdee sun, girlie.
yes, I feel fall creeping in even as the cicada sings and the Rose of Sharon blooms...
some of my very favorite images are sunlight blasting me in the face - i can always feel the heat against my skin. love these images!
i can sense fall, but it's still in the low 100s here - i think a newbie to this area wouldn't be able to tell the slight difference. as gail said, the sun sets earlier, and that's one of the few signs we're seeing. :)

Pretty, pretty. Fall is showing up here too...yippee!
these are just beautiful... yes, i feel it moving in, one bag at a time, but autumn is my favorite so I'm okay with it...
Loving your sun-washed photos here, Beth.
Summer shaking her groove thing is pretty darn good. So are your photos, as always.

the sun does seem gentler
and friendlier
these shorter golden days.
Leave it to you
to get it to smile
for the camera:)

You really captured the essence of summer with these pohtos. Sitting here, I tried to think what reminded me of Summer the most. Smells. Yes, I think smells come to mind the best. Bar-B-Q's, flowers, suntan oils, Fruits being harvested...wonderful!___=^..^=___Kittie
1st day of fall is later in September, but we should definitely feel the difference in the temperature. The photos make me crave for a morning with a little frost.
Very ethereal, Beth. But, please keep fall there for awhile to bask in your sunshine. Don't send it west.
these are beautiful, but to be honest, i'm so tired of shooting in sunlight. :) i think autumn has moved her stuff in but then decided to head somewhere else on vacation. sigh.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
For at least a day or two...it is funny but I would not want to every pick a favorite because they are all so beautiful. do you have a favorite Beth that you are most proud of. just curious. hugs.
You and the sun make a good partnership. You are having a lot of fun capturing it in your lens and I love what you are doing.
I just love your photos and take a break from work to check out your blog. While your photos are absolutely beautiful on their own, it is your text that really makes them stand out. Have you ever thought of writing a children's book with your photos?

Beautiful...and a favourite changes as often as we breathe!
