I hope you can sew...

I bought this skirt at a craft fair
and
I think it's the best thing since fingerless gloves
~
the girl making them
told us how she has all of her friends give her
what would be their "goodwill" donations
and
then she turns the old sweaters into winter skirts
and
the t-shirts get turned into summer skirts or bikini bottom cover ups
~
all of them have draw string waists
for basically
a perfect fit
~
oh
I hope you can sew
and
make some of these
~
AND
then there's this fabulous thingy over here
~I just ran to goodwill by the way so I can try this~
and
then
look in her store while you're on her blog
ummmm
did you see her fabulous fingerless gloves
~holy crap~
they look like my skirt and now I want those
~~
this is totally what happens to me this time of year
~~
and
~one more thing~
can you see the slightly crooked smile up top
well the braces are going back on sometime in january
because
the tooth that had to move the most the first time around
is being a little shit
and
not cooperating
and
if it were any other tooth than a front one
then
so be it
but
nooooo
it had to be smack dab in the middle of my face
arrghhhh
and
you might say what the heck is this crazy woman talking about
it looks just fine
but
what you see here is my half smile
at most
and
usually I smile with my whole face
and
well
it's bugging me
and
besides
I paid for straight teeth

  5. Okay Beth...give us the whole face smile NOW. so we can judge. You sure look fine to me. But I understand your feelings about it.

LOVE that skirt. Can I purchase it by internet???I'm gonna check out her space. I'm a skirt and dress kind of girl too. See you around, croocked teeth girl...Okay this one was below the belt, don't mean it to be like this though, just teeee(th)zing.

  6. That skirt is gorgeous! Oh, how I wish I could sew better! All I do right now are things with straight lines when I have to. Maybe after I have baby number 2 I can pick that skill up in all my spare time. ;o)

By the way, love the turtleneck, too! It is so classic yet very chic.

  8. Love the skirt - not to mention that absolutely killer bod that is wearing it. Man, Beth, you are in amazing shape ! I bought myself the fingerless gloves earlier this fall from Katwise - she is soooo awesome !
Now, I know you paid for them, and if they are really bothering you and you are willing to go through the whole wearing braces thing again, go for it but you know what ? I think you are pretty damn perfect and definitely extremely beautiful Just The Way You Are.
    I am just saying...
(Thank you so much for the beautiful hugs you sent me via snail mail - it made my heart smile really, really big !)
    Happy Tuesday !

  15. That is an adorable skirt. I love the colors too. You dress how I like to dress. I love wearing turtlenecks, tights, leggings, skirts, boots, and gloves. Last night I was in K-Mart and I saw the cutest gloves ever. They are Joe Boxer 3 in 1 glove. You can wear them with fingers, fingerless or layered with different colors. They are so cute so I just had to buy me a couple of pair. I bought a short pair and a long pair. Maybe I'll post a pic of them sometime today.

I used to sew, but I haven't had my sewing machine out in quite awhile. I have no workspace for it, but that scarf idea sounds like a fun project.

You must do what you must do ... but please know that I don't believe there's a person who knows you up close or from afar that sees any imperfections in your radiant smile!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  28. I love this and it looks great on you!...just last year I bought a wonderful sweater from a small shop in town that specializes in recycling...it was made up of several different old salvaged sweaters much like your skirt...I will have to post a picture of it someday. The owner of the shop made it herself...now if I could only be as creative...

    wear it
    as for teeth
    I
    am a confessed dentalphobe
after too many years in the chair
    so many things to do
    so little time...

And i hear you on the straight teeth. I finally got mine straightened for my 45th (46 and part of my 47th) birthday but my braces had to go back on for a while too. And I'm really glad I did it!

    Hang in there.
