gross, I know....

if you really want to get a case of the all.over.body.squirm.get.me.out.of.here.itch
click on my photo so that the spider sacks
feel like they're right there in the same room with you
~~
or not
~~
call me crazy nutsy cuckoo a little strange
but I kind of dig stuff like this
*
and by the way, this is not my house...really it's not. now granted, my house needs a total overhaul by a merry maids
army, but if the day ever comes that spider sacks are found anywhere near where I walk or sleep or eat,
well you can be pretty much rest assured that I'll be nowhere in sight, because even though I think photographing them is really cool, the idea of one those sacks opening and spilling out hundreds of babies that will hook up with big old wolf spiders just for fun
totally gives me the willies

  1. OH Beth, they freak me out, and because I get startled by them I usually fall down, how crazy is that. Happens because of my cataplexy. We actually have seen more spiders here this summer than usual. Today spraying the house there was a huge one, and down I went, then got back up and sprayed it off the house...better you than me taking a picture of them, that's for sure. Take care.

  3. Spiders! I'm deathly allergic to their bites but both my city and country houses are rife with them (near water, my bad). I've kind of gotten used to them, myself. But size is everything!

  5. We have a large one by our front door. She scuttles behind the trim on the door every time we go in our out. Michael's tried to do her in on numerous occasssions, but at the very last second, she backs up into a space we can't reach.

She knows I won't spray her because of the dogs...

So, I named her Charlotte to reduce the ick factor. I haven't had many bugs make it through into the house.

I believe I'll miss the ol' girl when the cold finally does the job that we couldn't do.

Maybe I'll have a memorial service for her. You should come. Bring your camera.

  7. I hate spiders. We have a big spider sack hanging off of our barbeque. I walked by it yesterday and meant to take care of it, but haven't yet. I know it's a black widow sack because I saw the black widow hanging there a few weeks ago.

It creeps me out. I guess I should get rid of it before it hatches. We already have a ton of spiders everywhere.

  8. I confess I left a spider in the corner for at least two hours while he made a web... my daughter and I were fascinated watching him dance, and spin, spin, spin. When he was done I didn't have the heart to kick him out, so my husband had to when he got home.

    :-)

I do love watching them spin, spin, spin.

    (((hugs))),
    love,
    me

  9. LOL my brother is not fond of spiders as he was bitten by a brown recluse and had a bad experience with that. they never bothered me as long as they stayed in their place. HOWEVER, now living in an older home we find them all the time. the other night I was asked to squish one as he didn't have his shoes - sure enough as I stomped about 20 babies scattered. It was kinda hilarious.

of course about a month ago a spider bit me on the finger and I'm losing my nail now. BOO

  10. I think it's cool, actually -- and actually at first I thought they were some kind of dried berries caught in the web ... spidies don't bother me, scare me ... except brown recluses.

  13. Hey, but if it's like Charlotte's Web you might be lucky and have little spiders leaving messages saying that 'Beth is wonderful' ;-)
