Should I change from my 18 - 200 mm lens to the new micro/macro lens, the one that hasn't yet been freed from its box? And what will I take photos of, what small up-close-and- personal things that I usually shun because I'm focusing on the big picture?
you know, I have great respect for ants. I love seeing them outdoors, and I even expect to have them as picnic guests. But we've had an infestation in our kitchen of black ants and I'm not feeling so generous-hearted toward them there! But the picture? rockin!

wow - that is a great macro though. hope you didn't get bitten.
Close enough to make me itch and then say, "Flippin' amazing..."
Is there a way to make a living as a bug photographer ? 'Cause, Baby, you're the best ! Itchy all over but admiring the shot.
Happy Monday, talented One !
love it!
you take a mean macro. ants are so interesting up close, i think. my friend got some really awesome ant shots recently.
Very cool. I think ants are fascinating, and yeah, I feel a bit itchy!

You see the beauty in even the smallest places and faces, Beth!
Great capture!

Prickly...the first thought that comes to mind. If you like ants though, we've got hundreds of red ants all over our property.
How fun! What lens did you use? I also wanted to say, I just love the name of your blog- just sums it all up! :)
lol, I was scratching even before I read the words!

Incredible photography. I'm a novice but feel at ease with a camera in my hand! Great site.

Wonderful macro shot. Ant's give me the shivers though (still remember the day I sat in a nest of red ugly biting ones...brrrr)
Great shot Beth and yes- I am itching- yuck!
awesome shot!
I love the bug pictures.
Hi Beth,
This even makes the bud look like a carniverous plant. The ant better watch out!
I love ants. I love ants so much! Get mad when people kill them, love 'em. This picture is wonderful.
