today
over at christina's
we're celebrating
"simple things"
~~
and
I thought this would be so amazingly easy
but
it's not
it's hard
{said in my best craig ferguson voice}
~~
I thought I could find a photo in my archives that would easily represent
"simple"
but
I couldn't
~~
I found a beautiful cobweb photo which I thought was a good choice
but
after staring at it a bit
wow
seriously
do you know how complicated a cobweb is
?
~~
so
after looking for awhile more and ready to give up
and
thinking the bar of soap idea
that christina suggested
sounded great
and
maybe I should just go take some photos in my shower
I
came across this picture
~~
it was taken on one of our many vacations in
seaside florida
where a little piece of my heart stayed behind years ago
and
where life
is
...
you got it
...
SIMPLE
*
And even this picture isn't simple because it holds so much more. For us only to see what it shows in the frame. For you so much more, as it is attached with great memories.
ReplyDeleteDo let your heart sink into these memories for a while. Hugs to simple.
your photography has always captured the simple for me...
ReplyDeletei love the wings! kt
ReplyDeleteIt's really simple...any day with Beth's word and images in it is a great day. The End
ReplyDeletei hear them ...feel the spray and smell the shore ...thank you for this simple reminder beth!
ReplyDeletesimplicity is hard to capture in a photograph, now that you made me think about it...and it is hard to capture in life sometimes too...you'd think it would be simple. :)
ReplyDeleteMay your Wednesday be full of simply wonderful moments to capture !
i was the same way yesterday. surprised at how complicated simple could be!! great post.
ReplyDeletethe very reason i loved my trip to florida—simple. not fussy. just sitting at the beach taking in the things around me that i have nothing to do with—no control over. but i have every right and ability to enjoy. the simple life. love it!
ReplyDeleteand yes, a cobweb is complicated and intricate and detailed. but enjoying and appreciating it is a simple act—it's the little things—the seemingly insignificant things. that's simplicity.
oh, jeez. should i write a book or something? :)
simple is good :-)
ReplyDeletei was taking pictures of bubbles in the bath tub last night. husband things i've lost it!
ReplyDeleteAnd it was the perfect choice. A glorious photo, that stands simply, on it's own.
ReplyDeleteThank you, lovely! Thank you!
xo
Sounds like a good brain exercise!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! Your words, your thoughts and feelings.
ReplyDeleteI come by way of Christina.
Constance
Very sweet... and love the image--simple pleasure at its best--gorgeous! Happy Day :o)
ReplyDeleteyea, you hooked me with that beach-&-winged picture, just when I thought I got my JONESIN' FOR THE OCEAN' attach under control (Veronica did a post about mermaids, for me, that set me off earlier) ...
ReplyDeleteit's true, it IS simpler at the beach. Because it's my soul's home, my DNA Central, so I don't have any parts of myself struggling toward it.
Lovely photo, but I'm hatin' you right now, woman -- I gotta start all over soothing my mermaid tail back under cover of kneecaps and ankle bones (&, today, pantyhose and pumps!). eesh.
This makes me feel like I am right there at the beach, laying in the warm sand, listening to these gulls, and the waves crashing and hissing on the sand. Works for me! I just took a mini vacation :)
ReplyDeleteSimple is a good thing, but keeping it simple can be really really hard!
ReplyDeleteps...my macro problem is because my camera needs to go in for repairs....yikes!
Your beautiful picture by the ocean says it all, Beth.
ReplyDeleteBeth I love the photos and you thoughts . YOu are a delight to visit on your blog.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful capture...and your list, simple wonderful.
ReplyDeleteit made me step back and think of the complexity of a spider web. i'll remember that next time. ;)
one love.
You chose well! I love this shot!
ReplyDeleteOh, C'mon Beth!!
ReplyDeleteLet's be beach bums...
We'd have so much fun!!
We could paint our house pink, or tangerine, and just lounge around, or walking on the beach shooting pictures.
It would be such a peaceful, happy existence.
I'm all in, what about you?
Attaining and maintaining the simple life can be exhausting, but a goal worth striving for. You did "good" with this photo!
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect simplicity!!! Love the soft colors!!!
ReplyDeletei love this photo -- such a treat for the senses. i can hear the gulls and surf crashing, feel the mist and smell the salty air.
ReplyDeleteSimple. Elegant. Beautiful. Peaceful. Joyful. Like you! (And more birds... Love it!)
ReplyDeleteit is simply beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou know, this photo made me wish even more for our little get together. Maybe we should scratch Chicago all together and head to Florida?
