the windows yesterday
while I sat in my black sweats
drinking tea
and
eating pretzels
spend rainy days in their studios
playing with paint and paper and canvas and brushes
and glue and inks and stamps and spray bottles and magazine pages
and markers and stencils
~~
I know this
because
I used to be one of those artists
but
I don't see her very often anymore
and
all the buttons on her camera
~~
and
then when she gets home
she plays with
layers and color and cropping and contrast and exposure
it tends to be a sickness of her's
...
an addiction
really
really
happy

{the "be brave" layer I used is from swirly girl...she offered them to us as buttons...but I don't know what to do with a button, so I made a layer instead...thanks christine}

An addiction to photography is a great thing imo :-)
ReplyDeleteOn the previous post, I love the final shot of your son jumping from the swing. That's a great capture!
i completely relate to the photographer in you... photography has become a bit of my addiction lately :) a most enjoyable one!
ReplyDeletei love the first picture above and the slight bit of blue behind the layer of clouds. beautiful!
Instead of addiction, with one such as you, I'd prefer to call it a Divine Madness, and I am so happy to stand in your divinity and see what you see...
ReplyDeleteThere are much worse 'addictions' that 'creativity'!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your rainy day results!!!
It makes us really, really happy too, Beth! They're all great but I love the colour in the first shot and the blue flowers at the end.
ReplyDeletelove, love, love that red barn. it is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeletethank GOD your addiction is what is it, it's sooooo inspiring to those of us with some of those other addictions. I like Holly's phrase, Divine Madness. I'll bet by the end of next week, you know what a button is, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures...glad you have this addictions.
ReplyDeleteTake care
i know this addiction.
ReplyDeletethere might be a cure,
but i'm not really interested.
:)
love love love the barn shot!
This artist has been longing to play in paint and glue, but has delighted in pushing buttons on her little silver box!
ReplyDeleteLove the barn photo especially. Very nice indeed! It WAS a gloomy day, wasn't it? But you look like you were productive!
I love to do that too and even though I have some sewing, I haven't taken it out yet. I really need to do that.
ReplyDeletethis is a very healthy
ReplyDeletebeautiful
nourishing
addiction
all self expression through art
and music
your photo's are stunning
and soulful:)

Something new to have like your photos...it's good, a new beginning, that feeling you get when you just must do something that draws you so close to feeling almost obsessed, but in a very good way.
