cripes...my aging mind !

my mind weaves complicated thoughts and ideas
and
tends to remember what others have usually forgotten
~~
phone numbers
names
locations and directions
~~
but the older I get
the more I forget
~~
and
yesterday's post was a great example of me
losing it
~~
my daughter just told me that I had already posted some of those house pictures
shortly after I had taken them this past fall
and
I was like
"really....are you sure?"
and
she was like
"yep, I've seen the outside of that house before"
"but I don't think you told the story"
~~
DAMN
~~
you see
I have picture files that are bursting at the seams and I tend to keep track of which pictures I've used, which pictures I love the best, which pictures are just so-so and should be deleted, but for some reason I've formed an attachment to them and can't throw them away and which pictures will be the best ones to edit late at night when I can't sleep.
~~
but
I don't have a file of pictures labeled
"used already so don't be an idiot and use them again"
~~
I guess I need a new file
~~
so a huge apology to you, if you've already seen any of the pictures from yesterday's post in a previous post
and
to all my new readers
a.
thank you for being here
and
b.
pretend you never read any of this
~~
and
in case you were wondering
the picture for this post was in the "late night" file

I love being human! And I love that you are sharing your humanness — And as a newish reader, I found the house lovely and new to me!

Hi Beth,

Great tree picture! As I'm catching up with your blog too, I shall enjoy seeing yesterday's pics all fresh!

Well, I find the nice thing about forgetting is that you can enjoy for the first time the same experience over and over again. So it is with your picture, it was faintly familiar but you like old houses and I hadn't heard the story before. So, thank you.

hee ... join the mental-hiccup-brigade ... and let's just pretend (like my cat does, every time she does something silly) that we meant to do it! Anyway, the story made the photos fresh again so what's the worry?

Gorgeous tree. mmmmmmm... i want to be up in the top branches like a sultry breeze.

So, here's the thing, can a thing of beauty ever be seen enough? I'm thinking, no. And, since you'll always have a new reader dropping by, can it ever seem like a redundancy? Nope. Not possible.

No worries. If you took the time to capture it, we can certainly take the time to share it with you.

I enjoy your work enough to put it on my blog as one I follow now. And, I only do that for outstanding thoughts and images.

Now, who are you and what were we talking about?

The picture of the tree is absolutely ethereal and mystical, and hauntingly beautiful, and AHH! I love it!

I think it's my favorite...

I am so with you Beth, but the thing is...even if we did see the pictures before- we did not see yesterday's particular post with the story behind it...At school we call is CRS (can't remember s***)- welcome to the club!

Ah! I've lost count of the times I have gone to post a photo, or have posted a photo and been scratching my head at the same time trying to remember if I'd posted it in the past :-) The brain cells just ain't what they used to be.

Peace

a harmless oversight.
:)

i know what you mean. my husband is always saying things to me like, "You already asked me that like 10 minutes ago."

ughh.

what a great picture to go with your descriptive words about how your mind works! and just a great picture period!

Now, look. You could put the same photo on every post and it would still be amazing -- you would do a different technique or tell a wonderful story and we would all be captivated. And it wouldn't matter if you had posted it before (though I know exactly what you mean!) because it would be simply lovely.

I am so smiling at this very moment!

I'm right there with you on the memory going slowly....I find myself remembering the useless stuff and then not remembering the things that should be standard in my life... what's one to do!

The magical tree is a wonderful shot. I love the mood--the edginess to it.
