the sun
blinding today
~~
the air
warmer than they said it would be
~~
the wind
barely breathing
~~
the sky
a cotton blanket of blue
~~
the ground
damp with rotted leaves
~~
the trees
stretching and yawning while waking to spring's soft music
~~
me
oh
I was the crazy lady in the park taking pictures of everything I could find
including children I didn't know
and
ducks that made me laugh
because
I bought a new toy
and
what better way to practice than to act like a stalker
who hasn't seen daylight or people in the last
6
months
~~
I'm guessing
you camera people might be wondering what
new toy
right
?
and
you non-camera people
are wondering how strange I might actually be
if I'm taking pictures of stranger's children
right
?
~~
well
the new toy
is a mega zoom lens
~~
much better than my old one
but oh she's a heavy one
and
those photos of the children I don't know
well
they'll be in my next post
~~
{and really I'm not that strange}

ReplyDeletei came to visit from se'lah's blog. very nice. i will be back.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!!!! Great lighting! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour words made me laugh! I'm often the other crazy lady with the camera in the park!!! Wonderful pics!
ReplyDeleteSo is that duck presenting you with its best side? you little Fowl Paparazzette, you! (did you try the Cheeze Its with your geese?)
ReplyDeleteHello again, Beth,
ReplyDeleteWhimsical duck! Super closeups. At least the lens will allow you a head start if you have to run!
I don't think that strange. I envy you that; in our sad world, if a man took pictures of children he didn't know, there'd be a hue and cry. I shall await your post with interest. This one was superb - as, indeed, is the blog.
ReplyDeletegreat collage!! I love how the shots work together.
ReplyDeleteand I can't wait to hear about the new lens...what did you get?
LUCKYYY.... as Napolean Dynamite would say. : )

Congrats on the new zoom lens! And, congrats on getting some sunlight your way! I love your words. :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous collage.
ReplyDeletei love all the colors you brought into it.
OMG...love the photo collage!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm commenting on a couple of posts -- like your spring (below) -- and yes, I celebrate spring in my winter coat, too! But the sun is out!
ReplyDeleteAnd the park -- these particular images are lovely. And I loved that you took pix of the kids you didn't know in the third post -- that little show-off!
Mike of Dissentdecree.com speaks often of photography in his blog (scroll down a few posts for his piece on "Snapper" who gets a new digital camera -- it's one of my favorites. He's a fabulous photographer and may be able to offer some feedback on working with lenses. (He's done covers for the magazine I edit and I'm lucky to own some of his work.)Tell him Jeanie sent you!
