like it was
in this photo
I took on
sunday
~~~~~
now
it's wide open
and
screaming
"I survived"
~~~~~
actually
that was me this morning in my bathroom mirror
when I realized that winter is over
~
it's really over
and
I won
~
woot woot
~
and
now I layer
OH NO
not clothing layers
been there
done that
~
I'm picture layering
and
whoa
it's not that easy
~
well okay it's not that hard
and
maybe I'm just really picky or I'm making it harder than it should it be
but
geez
you have to have just the right picture and just the right layer
to make it look like something other than a blobby mess
but
I'm getting there
~
I figure if I can master layering
tanks with built in bras
under
whisper thin t-shirts
under
turtle necks
under
polartec anything
under
a winter coat and scarf
then
I sure as hell
can do this
*
{the picture in my banner is also layered and I'll take any advice from other layerers on how to do this technique
and
yes I'm cracking myself up....layerers isn't a word, is it?}
the layers look great - I'm always glad to help as I adore layers, but I think you're doing great on your own! :)
ReplyDeleteand yay!! survival - always a magnificent thing.
Love the layers you're playing with here. And - isn't it good to get rid of some of those heavy layers we've been wearing..all at once and at the same time??
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this photo. Glad I discovered your blog today.
ReplyDeleteOne Love, Se'Lah
oh sweet god, Beth, your description of layering all those articles of clothing had me gasping with laughter and crying with MISSING IT!!! I've been in sleeveless shirts and a bra, AGAIN! since January 27th. I wore a long sleeved dress ONCE, my beautiful lace-up brown boots TWICE, my leather jacket ONCE, and nary a sweater. ... layers, it's all subjective, ain't it?
ReplyDeletelayerers -- hey, it's a word if you say so and others know what you mean. I like it. My journal pages are layers -- does that qualify me as a layerer? And somebody with multiple sexual partners, is he or she a layerer too? ... this could go all kinds of directions so I'm shutting up now.
On my blog I wrote about peeling back layers...
ReplyDeleteIt must be spring.
Good morning to you!!
{I meant to tell you yesterday that I LOVE your new header!}
I love the pictures and I can tell there is texture and layering and they look really cool and I really wish I knew how to do it too! Happy Spring!!!
ReplyDeleteyay Beth keep peeling those layers! ELK
ReplyDeleteThank GOD the months of Winter in Wisconsin are now a part of history....I sat out on my last day before going back to work, on my front stoop... 75 degrees in Milwaukee, sun beaming in my face, I even got some color on my cheeks. It was fabulous and I was amazed at how much it lifted my spirits....
ReplyDeleteand PLEASE...make up more words... layerers is SO a word.
xo
I stumbled upon your blog and it's awesome. Your pictures inspire me.
ReplyDeletei'd love to master the art of layering in Photoshop. about the only time i use it is to add text to my photos. but i would love to start using it for more things.
ReplyDeletelayerers—it's a word! if it wasn't before, it is now!
:)
It is so nice not to have to wear so many layers outside! I think your banner and this shot are awesome! The layers look great to me.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! I'm doing my happy dance! Even a sudden snowfall couldn't put TOO much of a damper on my happiness. Spring has sprung and I'm so happy I could nearly cry! Survive we did! Bravo to all of us!
ReplyDelete(My word for this post is "deadion" which I think means "winter is dead. The deadion winter is gone!!!
