my grandson....

this is fry and he's coming home saturday to live with my daughter. his mother is georgia who belongs to my sister. we like to keep things in the family you know. and if i didn't have such an aversion to "cat hair everywhere" i'd be bringing home his sister.
~
sophie needed to go potty at 5 o'clock the other morning. after letting her back in i decided i might as well go potty myself since i was already up and while walking through the bathroom, i stepped in a pile of dog vomit. that is not really the way i like to wake up. ever.
~
i walked around the neighborhood yesterday and saw 2 yards with blooming rose bushes. is that normal this time of year. in wisconsin.
~
did you watch the emmys. don't you just love jimmy fallon. i'd personally like to have him and ricky gervais over for dinner. okay, george clooney can come, too.
~
kate gosselin makes me want to vomit. i thought the nauseousness was only when i saw her dancing, but nope, it's pretty much anytime i see her.
~
all the kids are back in school today. that means it's safe to shop in target again.

happy first day of
september

  3. vomit or a piece of lego. i remember lego as being an excruciating experience. we have had such a beautiful summer there is a second blooming for many plants, (read that in the newspaper on saturday). i used to call kath's dog my nephew and my kids called him their cousin.

  5. OMG! That kitten is absolutely precious! I have two fur boys or I would consider the sister. Actually I would consider anyways. Then realize I was insane for thinking of three! Don't have cat hair everywhere. Trained mine to hold it in! ;)

  7. oh you are just way too funny. stepping in dog or cat vomit is never a good way to start the day...ugh. That kitten is adorable, and I know I am crazy 'cause I have six and I do have cat hair everywhere, but I love them all anyway...

  10. Fry is a sweet little bug ! Congrats, Grandma !

Cat Hair sucks but kittie love rules (as does puppy love). Two kitties don't really make that much more than one...If they were Siamese, you could name the male fry and the female "Stir"...;)
Roses bloom until frost most places...even in Canada.
Kate is sad...yes to Ricky, Jimmy and George...and Javier for some latin flavor for me...
Septemeber is here, ready or not...not...
May it be the kindest month...
Love to you, Funny One ! ;)

  12. Yes, Kate is sort of,,,, how shall I say? Oh yes... pukey, like that pile of dog stuff you stepped in, but since she really has no talent and must feed her children I guess we have to give her credit for trying.... otherwise it would be the welfare line and we'd all be paying for those 8 children. At least we have the option of shutting her show off with the remote... :-)

  13. I'm not sure if that is better or worse than laying down in the middle of the night on a couch that is soaked with pee!! My son went thru a sleep walking phase and my husband was going thru a snoring phase which caused me to head for the couch. The sleepwalker had a lot of trouble locating the bathroom in his sleep!! It gave me quite a jolt!! And by the way, George Clooney is ALWAYS welcome!!!

  14. Oh Beth...I could feel the vomit between my toes when you mentioned that...ick...not a good way to start the day! Hahaha about Target...that's soooo true!!

Ya know, I really wish we lived closer together...cuz we would go and meet for coffee and enjoy the quiet that comes on the first day of school. Ahhhhh ;)

  17. Such a sweet kitten face -- I don't know how you stiffened your backbone enough not to adopt Fry's sister.

  19. When I read your posts, I laugh loudly...out loud...even if I'm alone...especially when I'm alone...but I read the emmys talk to my husband. We LOVED the emmys! Jimmy Fallon was hysterical, and for the first time ever, I told Michael that I wanted to watch the show again! I agree with you about Kate G. Yuck. But what really got me cracking up was your Target talk. It hit home. Boy did it ever hit home. Enjoy September! ~Kath

  22. Oh my! I've done the dog vomit thing in the middle of the night and once it was "something else" as well and of course Mike was not home and... Love Glee though and Kate was funny with that skit- but generally not a fan of hers. When you have your dinner party- can I come? I'll bring dessert ...aka Johnny Depp- I know he was not at the Emmy's but...what's a party without dessert (if he's busy I'll try and find Bon Jovi and /or Donny O- see my recent post)?!

  23. Vomit and sweetness....all in one post!!!!! Nice.

  24. Darling kitten! Their huge eyes make me want to throw away all good judgment and take them home to my husband, Mr. Allergic To Everything. Last year we bought a hypoallergenic cat with long hair. I can handle the hair but get a bit annoyed with the cat walking in front of my computer monitor.

Let's hear it for the quiet streets of September!

  25. If I didn't have a dislike for cat hair too I'd arm wrestle you for that sweet kitten. What a beauty!

I'm with you on Jimmy, Ricky-- They rocked the Emmys, which had GREAT ratings for a change. And George, well, a girl can never get enough George. Not ever.

I'm just back from vacation and off to catch up on your prior posts. Hope you're doing great.

  26. What a very sweet face. I would have a difficult time passing up a face like that.

Now I saw alot of roses blooming in Wisconsin last week. They were looking alittle tired, but they were still doing their best to look beautiful. Maybe I will share tomorrow where I saw them.

  27. That cat is too cute. DO NOT let my wife get near him.

  29. Hi Beth. I'm here via Marilyn's blog. Had to laugh at your early morning adventures with kitty. And yes, I can relate to stepping in the icky stuff. Been there, done that too. Missed most of the Emmy's. After hearing about the opening act, I wonder if I can catch it On Demand. I must check. Excellent point about safely entering Target again. I'm going to shop tomorrow. I'm off now to explore more of your lovely blog. Annie

Yes! Happy September!! I too missed the Emmy's. I usually only watch for the clothes anyway. I can catch that on "E". Ha!

  33. I'd rather step in vomit than dog poop. I mean, if I were choosing between things that are gross.

And I want to come to your house for dinner that night the boys come. Oh, what fun.

  34. oh dear you are killing me... too funny... and the kitty.. total cuteness!!
