can you see me now....and randomness

so many of you
have already seen "life as a house"
~mentioned in yesterday's post~
and
not surprising at all
loved it as much as we did
~
i don't care that the weatherman says it will be 80 here on tuesday. fall is here and to prove it, i had gloves on last night at my nephew's soccer game. so there. but i'm a wimp.
~
this week starts the new fall tv line up and since i'm kind of a tv junkie, i'm thrilled.
i'll go back to my favorites and make room for a few new ones. "chase" looks interesting and since the previews use the song "glitter in the air" by "pink" which is still holding on as my favorite song, i think it will be worth watching.
~
the "apprentice" started and since we all love train wrecks
~which is what happens when you have teams that are all one sex~
it will probably keep my attention unless something else better comes on at the same time.
~
and
then there's
"parenthood"
which i fell in love with it last season
so hopefully the writers who really outdid themselves
have the stamina to keep it going this year
and
let me ditto that for "modern family"
~
who has HBO. is anyone watching "the big c" with laura linney. it started a month ago and is on monday nights and is by far the best thing i have watched on tv in years. seriously, in years.
please someone. tell me you've been watching, too.
~
the photo above is me/us being goofy
but
seriously
how far can you be from the camera and still show up in the photo
~
i know
we need to get a life
~
is there a book called
"we're empty nesters, now what"

Not that I'm aware of. Maybe you should start it. You sure have the writing skills, the wit, humor, life experience. It's a great idea! I want a signed copy.

  3. Empty nests take getting used to and then there is so much room to explore. If that is you way way back there in this picture I can barely see you.

  4. As I live with Mr. TV we are also getting excited about new shows. I am looking forward to The Event. I saw a commercial for The Office and it was so funny. I love, love, love Modern Family. Also looking forward to Conan's new show. I wish we had HBO I would love to watch The Big C. Will have to wait for the DVD. I just started watching True Blood on DVD. Did you ever watch that? I am hooked.

  5. Oh I would love your life, out and about, I love the photo, and we had a minus 6 evening, I am afraid fall is not going to stick around.

  6. The photograph is great and your image is very small but still sharp, great focus.

We are limited by our television, we get limited Sky Tv, and there are mostly repeats, ah well............ Eventually there will be "new"repeats that we haven´t seen...

Where we live in the Canary Islands is hot or hotter all the year round, currently 34c. Not like living in Scotland at all whee they have snow forecast already!

  8. Thanks for the rundown on the fall line up. I fly to the US next week and am craving American t.v. You don't know what you've got until you lose it. I can't wait to sit in my recliner, by myself, and watch nonstop t.v. Disgusting, I know.

  9. I love the photo! Reinforces for me that all the open lands are NOT being swallowed up by big development. Ahhhhh....and yep, Fall must be in the air. Hubby has a big pot of chili on the stove, yum.

  10. Oh there you are... a wee dot on the horizon.

I'm quite looking forward to the new season of Modern Family. And always The Office.

  11. let me just say that Modern Family is 'THE' best comedy on TV right now. i love it & am looking forward to Wednesday. i too will be watching Chase because it has Cole Hauser playing in it.

love your acorn pic and the old pink truck. Life As A House looks really good. i'll be adding it to my Netflix account.

i also love the pic of those bottles & that outbuilding is incredible. good luck with your home search. hope all is well.

  12. I'm an empty nester, too, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Modern Family". I laugh so hard my belly hurts. I don't watch TV that much, but I hold true to my faves. I will check out "the Big C".

  16. We've been watching it and I like it, although being in health care for as long as I was and a Reiki person, I'm starting to get a bit tired of her shutting those closest to her out of her secret. But, we'll see how the show unfolds.

Speaking of Reiki, Beth I hung your frosted tree in the treatment room and it's on a wall where I can see it through most of a session. It makes me send the Reiki to you and your abilities and to be calm and quiet...

    Love you,

  17. my son just started his first "real" job, still home for now, so I am guessing that sometime soon he will be looking for an apartment. it is a whole new phase in life, but knowing you, you will find fabulous ways to fill your time...

  18. You, empty nesters, are so funny! Have fun with all the fall lineup. I am off to the beach for a couple days. I think I will take my little Brownie and see what I can capture.

  19. All this TV talk is Greek to me since I do not even own that piece of annoying furniture. I have been an empty nester now for 9 years. I love the bittersweet freedom! So we all find ways to nurture that endless urgency to fill our days with some sort of accomplishment, goal, achievement or worthy task. So go forth and continue to romp these fields, discover rusty old cars and sneak into abandoned buildings. I am loving your empty nest wanderings.

  20. I love The United States of Tara... such smart writing and so funny. Also love Nurse Jackie, more dark but with tons of humor and great characters... both are on showtime and haven't started their new seasons yet. Haven't seen the C word yet, but am anxious to soon :)

  21. We are battling/enjoying the warm fall here as well. Excellent image.

  22. It's a very nice picture actually.
Not watching any of the shows you mentioned, but keep hearing great things about both Parenthood and Modern Family. I need a life, which translates to, "I want to watch tv!"

    ReplyDelete
  23. Parenthood is the best show on TV...OK maybe Mad Men is...or Entourage...oh gosh, I think I like TV a little too much!

  24. I haven't even thought about the new season. My middle son got me turned on to "Dexter" - I'd never seen it since I don't get Showtime. I watched the first two seasons on Netflix, Play It Now, then saw the last two on Netflix CDs. I am in a frenzy because I won't be able to see season 5 unless I sign up for Showtime...or find a friend who has it and go over and sponge off her. I don't think I can survive till it is available on Netflix. I'm hooked on the show.

  26. No longer get HBO and I am going to try very, very hard to watch less tv this year...on that note I know I will not be missing glee, the office, modern family, ncis, 30 rock, etc, etc...

    Love your photo!

  27. So cute ... I love you in the photo and am glad you pointed it out! I missed it. I have no time for tv for the next few weeks and am secretly pouty about it.

  28. i put the big c on my list but haven't watched it yet. i took in 'boardwalk empire' last night - prohibition sopranos (yay) - tonight will be a dilemma for me as i have "the event" and "lone star" on my list. i also love "how i met your mom"
