the air is cooler and drier. the greens are fading. the apple picking signs are coaxing us for a visit. the pumpkins are timidly waving from the fields. the mornings are being protective and not waking us. the evenings ask us to turn our lamps on sooner. the sweatshirts have come out from their hiding spots in the closet and soup is already begging to be the main course.

Yes, it is teasing us here too. Now I must run and find my sweater. Just the thought of it makes me cold. I have been thinking about soup too. That squash in the garden will do just right for a soup.

I welcome fall this year too. But not snow and thank goodness, there is no snow in Vegas except the occasional flurry that floats down once in awhile when it's reaaly cold and then disappears almost as quickly as it hits the ground.

I personally think fall can crawl back where ever it is trying to come from. I want summer a bit longer...say until next June??!! Ha

I am a lover of fall. Goodbye, summer (I say as I wildly wave my hand farewell).
Except for a few really hot days in our area of always cool temperatures, fall won't be a great deal different.
I love fall, too, if it would just stay that way and not yield to the dark rainy time of the Pacific Northwest.
It's time to plant the fall garden.
it has been the most perfect weekend here. lows in the 60 and highs in the 80s. no humidity or clouds.

I just love your writing style. Have I already said this to you? Gorgeous photo, too. Fall seems to have shown up these last three days with a drastic temperature drop, fall blue skies with big poofy clouds, and yes, that dryness. I had a sweatshirt on yesterday, all day...
I noticed these little signs today too... although we're still dealing with temps in the 90's. I love fall.
With it being 112 this weekend it is far from fall here :( super sad face!
BUT! next year will be amazing and I can't wait to spend it in Oregon!

Me too, me too. Soup...I have been dreaming of soup. And crisp cool nights and crisp red apples and maybe even a little apple crisp.
Definitely a chill in the air. I'll be glad to be rid of summer's mosquitoes, that's for sure!

love those protective mornings! we are still all green here, fall is mostly a state of mind; it will be here sometime in november, maybe december. i will visit here to keep up with the pumpkins.
