is head banging bad ?

i'm not being very productive this week and i'm blaming it on the weather
~~
much to everyone's surprise
since it's a bit early
the sun has been brilliant and warm
and
the air smells moist and musky
~~
the snow is gone
and
the landscape is trying to decide if it likes itself
in multiple shades of taupe
while the skies have painted themselves
with every shade of blue
found in the color swatches at the paint store
and
all of it
has put me into a pre-spring daze
a bit lethargic
even hungrier than normal
and
all i can think about is how this must be how bears feel coming out of hibernation
~~
but
i'm not complaining
~~
i just got back from joann's with some new fabric to reupholster the chairs
on the three season porch at our cottage
but
i won't waste this glorious day
sitting on the floor
inside the house with my scissors and cutting board and tape measure
making cushion covers
~~
no way
~~
that fabric fun will be saved for saturday
when it's supposed to snow
oh
you heard me right
snow
maybe even
1-3 inches
the little weatherman said last night as i threw my apple at the television
~~
of course the scissors won't come out
until it's safe
and
that would be
after i bang my head against the wall for an hour or so first
~~
i know it's early
but
what are your weekend plans
?
ps....doesn't it look like the flower is looking at the fallen petals
like
"now what are two doing down there...get back up here right now"

  3. Oh we will be contending with what happens when the snow is melting all at once... so the mention of more sneaux would put me in a fetal position on the floor... although head banging has a certain ring to it!!

And yes, that is exactly what the petals seem so be saying!!

  4. i loved this post and particularly the photo. yes it does look like the flower is looking down at those little petals.
i knew better than to get my hopes up for spring too early. it's still cold and gray here - no snow in the forecast but still.

  7. The petals are just like kids, teasing and taunting. Pretty though.

  16. while head banging might be bad, i think a bottle of wine might do the trick... have it with a candlelit dinner in front of the fireplace... don't worry, spring IS coming I promise. :)

  17. That daisy does look as though it's holding its own against grayness! It's supposed to snow here in CO, too, but today in Denver it's in the 60's. I'm headed to the Zoo with Grands.

  18. It is suppose to snow here in my tiny town this weekend. But TODAY it is sunny and bright and this is the day I am living in.:) I love the colors of the wood with the flower. And it does look like the flower is looking at the fallen petals. Love coming here.

  19. I like Mary's suggestion to sip wine by the fire to ward off the gray skies. And keep that daisy handy...she looks ready to put a move on those winter doldrums!

  21. I heard the S-word, too. I knew we'd get slammed at least once more before all this warm, wonderful weather sticks. Maybe by Easter...!

  22. Aside from saying "Kudos on the picture"...I have "no comment" on the w word and the possiblity of the s word!

  23. Ya know, the weekend is still far enough off that the predicted snow might e rain or even turn out to move to the north, or the south, or the east. It never seems to move to the west though. I've been in a spring funk too. I got a glimmer that I may be coming out of it a bit today. Fingers crossed, don't want to jinx it.

Now go forth and cover furniture...I can't wait to see what you accomplish with a staple gun? Oh, I have jobs for you here in Texas....do you hire out?

  25. Yes, that is exactly what the flower looks like! And it was sunny here today, I know what you mean, at this time of year you have to get out there while you can because you just know there has to be more bad weather coming...hope you got to enjoy it!

  26. i love sunshine. and thanks for your sweet comment!

  27. Here too. But it has been a glorious few days. The girls were "tanning" in the backyard. Not as glorious as our tanning in Cuban, but we're getting there.

  28. I know exactly how you feel, being teased with sun and a little warmth, and then the forecast for snow! How dare it?
Banging your head is ok, throwing fruit at defenseless TV's is not.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Your flower looks quite indignant at those escaped petals. I can see her hands on her hips - LOL! And oh, more snow?!!! That is just wrong, but please don't bang your head TOO hard. Surely it will be the last of it?

  32. At least you're throwing apples at the TV and not wasting any good chocolate on it!!
A 3 season porch...would that be the mud season, the mosquito season, and the sticky season??

  38. Oh no! Did it actually snow????
Actually, I think I can answer that...by the looks of your more recent posts, I think the sun won the battle, no?
If it did snow, hopefully it was just a few lonesome flakes.
