silly life....

sometimes
all you need in order to get through your day
is a paint brush, a wrench and a tape measure
~
of course things turn out even better if
you're wearing your dad's old coonskin cap from when he was a little boy
along with your favorite baseball cap
~
and
heck
why even fasten your shoes
~
really
is it even necessary
~
i think i could learn something from
this little guy
~
how about you

  1. I have two photos that are so similar to this and are of my sons when they were this small. I have a picture of my youngest with his favorite possessions, including his Ernie doll. I have a picture of my elder son with things he felt were important to be grown up. One was a school lunchbox. Oh, my oh my.

  13. I love that photo, it really made me smile. I'm sure that little guy was just in his own little world with no cares.

  14. To remember to be young, silly, spontaneous, and care free. Why must life become so much more complicated when we grow up; I often yearn for the innocence and simplicity of childhood.

  17. Definitely, I have something to learn from this little guy. How creative to wear two hats at one time. That is difficult for most boys and men to do. ;0)

  18. Reminds me of when my daughter started choosing her own wardrobe for the day...polka dot leggings, plaid shorts, bright yellow sweater on backwards, gumboots and a tutu..Just to go to the grocery store! When do we lose our sense of fashion!

  23. Ah, the innocence of youth. The secret is to retain some of that, the wonder, the joy, the ability to be easily amused.
Easier said than done, but it's worth a try.
And the black furniture thing? Yes, wood stove fireplacey kind of thing, a regular dust magnet that, and black dresser right next to it. What was I thinking?
You, by the way, have retained that sense of youth!
