by now
most of you know my love of capturing
"the jump"
and
while i was down by the lake earlier this week
these sweet young girls
~complete strangers~
were more than cooperative
to make me happy
i loved this photo so much
that it's getting my
2010
best and favorite jump
~so far~
award
can you believe the first photo is
sooc
~shot on manual~
and
since it got an award and i loved it so much
i had to play around with it just a little bit
~
the
black and white version
and
the
vintage thru the view finder look
ended up being my favorites
to share with you
*
i hope this memorial day weekend
is filled with memories and laughs while you relax
and
i really hope
you take the time
to
jump
~at least a little~
*
Wow - these are great. Makes me remember those wisconsin summer days!
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!

The vintage effect is my favorite! I love jump shots too, specifically when my border collie Angus jumps for his beloved frisbee :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with *megula* -- the vintage effect is tops. Will you give copies of the photo to the girls? I bet their families would luv it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm in the mood for a jump, I come to your blog, Beth.
I've been feeling overwhelmed lately and haven't been here as often as I'd like. Sometimes the lushness of late spring/summer wears me out and makes me feel like I'm not doing all the things I should be. Long way of saying, I'm tired.
Enjoy your weekend.

what a blast!! I LOVE THIS....so fun..so fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOooooh -- really love the manipulation! Of course the original was fab, too.
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!
ReplyDeleteOh, there is so much LIFE to this image! I love how each girl looks completely different in her own *air pose*, and how each one seemed to be flowing with exhuberance for the moment.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful!!!
So fun!! check out

Philippe Halsman, who made Dahli and Nixon jump!
I am such a fan of your photography Beth, and I love the jumping photos. I remember another one I really liked a while ago - some teenagers sitting around who were quite delighted to be photographed, from memory. I have never really asked you about your photography - like, what kind of camera do you have, and how much time do you spend taking photos.... etc. Anyway, you certainly have a gift.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful shot, Beth. Full of whimsy and joy.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome shot ! Well deserving of the award for best jump of 2010 so far !
ReplyDeleteHave a great long weekend, lovely Beth !
Nice! Wish I were still young enough to survive a jump like that! What fun!

ReplyDeleteEach one got better, or more interesting I should say, as I scrolled down. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I haven't thanked you for the photog lession the other day, what a learning experience your post was. Haven't had, or made time yet to play with my camera while rereading your post, but i definitely will.
Again, thank you for that.

Great! I don't know how you can get your jumpers to jump so high--or make them look like they're jumping so high. Makes me want to go outside and jump!!!
