it needs a little salt, she said.....

sometimes
it's good to just sit
~
it doesn't matter if it's
in your own backyard on your grandmother's quilt
with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn
or
on a bench at the zoo while the kids next to you lick melting ice cream
from their hands and arms
or
in the sand while you watch the ocean reach up and pull the sun down
so it can be tucked in for the night
~
nope
it doesn't matter
~
all that matters is that you take the time to do it
*
so
where are you sitting today
?

  1. Right now I am sitting next to an open window with my computer enjoying a cool but sweet breeze. Soon I will be sitting in the car as I go back road wandering with my best friend and my camera. :-)

  3. On the couch with a cup of coffee watching the rising sun out the front window. Mornings are awesome here and I don't want to miss them. Nice post reminding us to take the time to sit and breathe and be in the moment. The picture of the chair on the grass is calming.

  5. Sitting at my studio table, creating a gift for my Mom for her 65th birthday. Putting some extra love into it...I kind of made her cry today when I was doing what I needed to do for myself. I am hoping the xtra love will shine through and ease unintentional hurt I caused. I love her so.
Oh, and the view from my window ? A magnificent maple tree, higher than my house, filled with newly opened leaves, so green that make your heart say "Oh !!!"
Big Love to you, beautiful Beth !

  12. Gorgeous! I sat outside starbucks with my latte, then stood soaking up the sun eating a bratwurst....followed up sitting in the sun with my pup dreaming of an ice cold margarita! It's true sad but true! Have a golden day!

  25. you've inspired me...to sit, watch the sky float by...and, if not for the squirrel outside washing her little face and hands in the birdbath and doing little poses to get me to throw her another nut..., contemplate the invitation of a single chair in the grass.

  26. oh, all I wanted to do today was sit, somewhere just like that. Finally I said enough, and went running, which is mostly the same thing, for me. I think I will just sit here, now, and stare at this photo a while and daydream...

PS: Love your blog, I'll most def be back!!
