different is good....

life is art
and
your perception of it
will always be a bit different than those around you
~
some days
it will even be drastically different
and
that's okay
~
and
when looking left
when the rest of the tour group is looking right
feels good to you
~
then
look left
and
when they all look up
look down
~
different is good

  2. Love it! Be yourself. It has been my motto forever. Sometimes it meant I was not so popular. Oh well. I want to always be true to myself and see everything I can see. That is one of the reasons I like your blog. I get to see so much here. And "hear" so much too.

  4. I had a t-shirt made for myself when I was about 14 years old. You know the kind where they would heat set and image on the from and add letters on the back. The front had this big eye crying rainbow tears and the back read "Weird is wonderful." - I was a pretty cool 14 year old. I am a pretty cool 44 year old too.
    Different is definitely good.
Love to you, Different One !

  5. Okay so apparently I type differently from everyone else too. Should have read : heart set an image on the front and add letters on the back.

  7. Is that for real? What, are you the turtle whisperer? First of all, hysterical, second of all, phenomenal!
And yes, always march to the beat of your own drum, er, turtle shell...

Is it really May here in WI? Doesn't feel like it when I walk out the door. Still wearing my fleece.

  29. These guys manage to share the log, even when one is turned in another direction - they are so cute, different sizes. I'm wondering their relation to each other...is the big one mommy and the other three sibling. All from the same batch? If so, someone got more food than the other!

  34. Very nice. As Lady Shimp once said to me: what are we supposed to be? Bland enough to blend?

Different is good. Congratulations on the potw.

  35. I can't even tell you how long I sat staring at this photograph and the thing that caught my attention first? "Good lord, is that a bear in the water over there?? That can be a bear. It isn't a bear. At least I think it isn't...Oh! Turtles!"

    I'm not fast, but I'm slow ;-)

Lovely picture, and wonderful worlds. Diversity adds interest, always.

@Cricket: Hehe, thank you good sir. I'm no great fan of bland (or beige...or pimento, but that's an entirely different story ;-) )

Congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's blog.

    Viva la difference!

  40. It takes years and years to learn that lesson. Truthfully, I think young people are like herd animals who blend all together for safety. Maybe there's something developmental about that...stay invisible until you have the life skills to survive as "Different."

And absolutely yes, that picture is
    a) beautiful
    b) touching
    c) funny
...not necessarily in the order of import.
