would you...

would you
gently reach out with your bare hands to pick the lavender colored wild flowers
if you knew he might come along for the ride
?
would you
walk through your prairie with capris and flip flops on
if you knew he was watching you
?
would you
get up close with your macro lens to take photos of the greenest plants you've ever seen
if you knew
instead you'd get a close up
of
him
~~~
if you're anything like me
you would
*
and
if you really want to see him up close and personal
come on
go ahead
click on the photo
you know you want to
You know, I've come to realize that it isn't the creature we don't like, are fearful of, or can't stand...
It's the surprise of them, the suddeness of seeing something...like a mouse...when you see anything where you don't expect it or want it to be, it's natural to pull back from it and startle...
Any of Spirit's version of life is interesting and lovely when you can simply bear witness to it.
Thank you for allowing us the space and place to do that today, Ms. Beth!
Did he shimmer? It looks like he was shimmering in the dancing light. And the delicate strength of webs is so interesting.
Ah, he's not so bad - it's the ones with the hairy thick legs and bodies that spook me - like dock spiders that have a spread as big as my hand...ewww...shivers of revulsion...your guy, kind of cute, as spiders go !
Happy eight-legged fun !
Oh this little fellow is beautiful, even more so when you look at him closly. I would. I would. I'm way to much of a naturefreak. If there would be snakes I'd think twice (and still run).
This reminds me of the preying mantis Sloane found last September. It was enormous. Really, really big. Like, as long as my hand. She put him in her bug catcher and took him to school to show her class - and mine. We named him Amen.
