living and breathing...

at our weekend cottage
this time of year
everything comes alive right before our eyes
and
yesterday as we pulled up
there was a faint blanket of purple covering the hillside
behind us
~~~
tiny violets everywhere
~~~
and
as
I danced through the woods
where the ground snapped beneath my feet
with each step I took
all I could do was smile back at at the violets looking at me
and
I did my best to be caught up
~completely~
in the moment
of just breathing

  1. I have just really learned the value of that - being ~completely~ in the moment. It has become a gift to me that is slowly changing my life ~completely~.

    Nature makes it easy, doesn't She ?

  2. Here I come for my morning hello! And, I find that this is the spot I have added to my morning clicks to start my day off correctly.

    But, as my FAVORITE color is purple,oh, can I tell you how much I adore these photos?

    Violets...they are the best. Simple. Happy. A bit flamboyant to get your attention, and way beautiful. Don't you just love a gal who knows what she is?

  3. This reminds me of Alice in Wonderland when the flowers are talking to her.

    I am so glad you are at the cottage. It sounds like a magical, spiritual retreat. Enjoy your time there!!!

    How breathtaking...

    On another note, I finished reading Everything is Beautiful and now I have my girlfriends reading it...very nice book...looking for other recommendations on books. I did just finish Remember Me? and The Undomestic Goddess and would recommend these myself, both were great. The author is Sophie Kinsella, you must check out her work.

  5. Purple is my favorite color...and I completely am in love with this time of year, how every minute there is something different sneaking through or popping through the dirt. It's new beginnings, something I need to learn from Mother Nature... wonderful pictures, Beth...

    I often feel that nature is a gift to us, a wonderful blessing. And when we stand in that moment, observing, breathing it all in... then the gift is truly appreciated.
