speechless...

who knew that a beautiful goose could not only stop me in my tracks
but
also stop my mouth from working
*
who knew that a beautiful goose protecting a nest wouldn't attack me
but
instead pose and look deep into my eyes
as if to say
"it's okay"

today...beautiful today...found me once again at the pond, where I was entertained for an hour with all the loves that live there. I grabbed this photo off my camera quickly, just so I could share it, but stay tuned for the really close ups of this new friend of mine and also the "in flight" photos of the heron I played tag with.

  2. It's because they can feel your love. And, what creature among us doesn't like to be adored?

    Thanks, Beth. As always. Beautiful!

  3. i love the intensity in the gaze of other creatures. there's anxiety, uncertainty and a certain degree of familiarity in them, i think.

  5. Hi Beth,

I just saw Georgia's mention of gorgeous green and thought "I didn't notice green on the goose"!!! Then I thought - "grass you fool"!!!

Lovely shot. Looking forward to the rest.

  7. Oh you've took my breath away (or was it the goose). What a great connection you both have made here. It's wonderful how nature give us these great gifts. Keep enjoying them.

  8. I guess the geese where you are are alot friendlier than ours.....I love to see them come back, because it means spring is coming, and their little ones are so cute as they follow mama in single file, but woe to the person who gets too close!

  10. So beautiful. I'll look forward to the others. They trust you. They know you will never hurt them, only celebrate them.
