a view from my window.....

well, my car window that is.

we went for a little drive on saturday. we're working on a new project {excited} and felt we needed to get "out of dodge" for awhile in hopes of finding something new to inspire us. the fresh air, the change of scenery, a restaurant with the most delicious chicken rolls {something we'd never had before} and just simply being with each other {for eight and a half hours, while talking about what our future holds} added up to the most perfect day.

the sun warmed and blinded us all day long, making us take off our coats in the car and move our visors up, down and every other way we possibly could to prevent our faces and retinas from burning. eventually we gave up, laughed at ourselves, and decided there just wasn't anyway we could possibly complain about the brilliant sun on a winter day in wisconsin.

today's forecast...snow is on its way. by tomorrow night, it looks like the hubby will be snow blowing about another foot of the same wet and heavy snow we just had last week. come on mother nature, it's march. we're done.
okay fine, you win. you're arriving no matter what {uncle}....so could you at least make sure the sun plans on traveling with you again this time and then could you promise us you're tired and not coming back until next winter....pretty please?

side note:these were all taken while we were on the highway going seventy miles an hour. i like the challenge of shooting from the passenger seat and then having to crop out cars, signs, fences, the rear view mirror and telephone poles when i get home. yep, i'm a bit odd that way.

  1. I had to laugh at the visors and the coats off...I do that too -- I love the beaming sun on a winter day but when you're in the car it heats up so quickly and the visors get a work out! But even while doing the tango in the car, no complaints because it is sunshine in winter. Bliss!!

Great shots from a moving vehicle and now that we know about cloning...I'll be doing the same on my next road trip.

Viva la time spent together talking about the future and plans!! xoxox

  6. That 2nd one with the barn, soooo cool. Man, I am lucky. Where I live outside philly use to be snow covered from Nov to march, like you are. Call it global warming or whatever, but I didnt have to shovel snow once this year. It seems we just get cold and dreary without the beauty ( more work) of the snow covered lanscape. I totally get your feeling, it's march already, enough! But your area sure does look picturesque.

  7. Looks like you're in for more snow tomorrow--this is the long part of winter, isn't it?
Still, I never tire of seeing trees against a stark winter canvas.

  10. I'm odd that way, too. When we were cruising down the highway in France, my poor host was baffled that I would take photos out the window. "I'll stop!" he said. That would take all the fun out of it -- and there would be plenty of stopping later!

  13. Oh, what wonderful shots out your car window. If you hadn't told me, I'd not believed it. And what a great way to spend the day. Yes, enough already with the snow. We're supposed to get our first significant snow on Wednesday. I've heard this story before, however.
