i don't know how
to thank all of you for your supportive and encouraging words
from yesterday's post
~
because of you
i have been lifted up
~
did any of you get the chance to see oprah's last show yesterday
where she spoke directly to the audience in her studio
and
directly to us
~
i cried. i laughed. i cried some more.
it was incredibly powerful
~
she hit some of my hibernating and sensitive nerves and set me on fire
~in a good way~
~
there were so many quotes she shared with us
and
like a fool i took messy notes and wrote as many of her words as i could
in a notebook
{only to find them all on google this morning}
~i should have known~
~
anyhow
i want to share two of my favorites with all of you
~~
"you have to know what sparks the light in you,
so that you in your own way can illuminate the world.
you have the power to change someone's life"
~~
and
this next one might be my all time favorite
and
as a gentle reminder to myself and to my loved ones
i think i want it on a plaque hanging outside my office
~~
"you are responsible for the energy you bring into this room"
{this is actually a quote by dr. jill bolte taylor who is one of oprah's favorite people"
~
so again
thank you
all of you
for supporting me the way you do
~
you're all amazing and i'd give anything if we could all spend a girl's weekend
together
on the beach
~
and
oprah would say
"well. if you dream it and believe it and put energy into it. it will happen."
gosh
i'm going to miss her
*
happy memorial weekend to all of you
i did not see oprah's last show. thanks for passing on some of her inspiration tho. :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I missed her last show. I will catch it later on though. She was an inspiration and I enjoyed her show although I didn't watch as often I would have liked.
ReplyDeleteI watched her grow as I grew myself through the years.
I do love her quotes. And I think that many bloggers bring their light to others everyday.
May your light shine brightly.
Happy week-end to you, too ... I'll have to check her quotes out.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, beautiful, beatiful...yesterday's post and today's!
ReplyDeletewords to live by, indeed :-)
ReplyDeleteoh yes, let's meet on the beach!
I saw it and she did have some wonderful thoughts to leave us with. I like how she said to find your purpose...and do it well. There you go:)))
ReplyDeleteI watched her ... she was remarkable. She has done so much for men and women. I love that quote about "energy". I'm always telling my friends and family to surround themselves with people who bring good energy into your life.
ReplyDeleteI'm in for a girls' weekend at the beach! woohoo!
Beth...you are such an amazing woman! You have been such an inspiration to me...I do hope you know that. Your energy is full of light and happiness...and your photos show that. This is your calling...not get out of your way and make it happen. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI saw the show, too, and was incredibly inspired. I thought it was a perfect ending for her.
ReplyDeleteI did watch the show and printed it off today from her website. She will be a Maya Angelou someday, I believe she will do well.
ReplyDeleteWow - I love that photo, Beth - so fresh. We do carry our energy with us, don't we? It's good to remember that.
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree with her words and your words: It's all about energy the one within us, the one we radiate and the one we pick up from each other. Thank you, Beth :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth,
ReplyDeleteI was just talking to you about Oprah and her lovely wisdom and hadn't even read your post yet! I love the coincidence.
I will miss her too. I think she is a mighty force.
I too want to dream of an all girls weekend on a beach with you and our cameras. Sounds just about perfect.
I'll be there as long as I don't have to wear a bathing suit...lol
ReplyDeletehugs
xx

this is my first time here and i love Oprah too! she has certainly made a a difference in many lives, mine included eventhough i'm thousands of miles away.
ReplyDeletei like what you've share and wishing you a wonderful weekend too!
I like the sounds of a girls' day out on the beach with Mojitos and a camera and my sketch pad!
ReplyDeleteSounds heavenly!
Hugs
SueAnn
Beth, I finally got back on here, I am going to miss Oprah too. I laughed and cried too....I saw your post from yesterday...let your energy take you as far as you can go.You are such an inspiration to so many...may all your dreams become a reality. hugs my friend.
ReplyDeleteI have never watched an Oprah show, and was surprised to hear that it was finishing this week. She seems to resonate with so many people!
ReplyDeleteI completely get what you are saying, today and in your last post, I hope all your doubts will clear up soon enough so you will find the doors to new opportunities!
I have another quote for you beth. It's by Burta Lenora Cole, my Grand Mother
ReplyDelete"To have truly great friends, you have to be one also."
And here's another one. From my Mother this time, Wonda Lorraine Smith:
"The only true handycap is a bad attitude"
I have a long line of strong, viberent women to live up to. I do so as best I can, with pleasure. And like that old quote "Birds of a feather, flock together" I think we all have come together in the true spirit of friendship because we have so much in common. You my friend have always given me pause to think, and laugh, and your generious encouragement has touched me in way, and depths I can find on words for. So in my opinion, Oprahs got nothing on you...okay?!___=^..^=___Kittie
Especially love the last quote. So true..so true..so true!!!
ReplyDeletethat first quote..amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you a happy weekend as well. Youknow, I never watched Oprah -- it was on at the wrong time and I seldom saw it. But I know her energy is so positive, so uplifting so empowering, I confess I'm sad I missed it so often. Glad her mag will be around. Thanks for sharing the quotes. (My verification word is cheriti -- which begins at home, and Oprah brought more than her share into so many homes.
ReplyDeleteonce again, beth...you have blessed me this morning with words and your photo...thank you. and a beautiful weekend to you... i have a spot reserved for you at the beach... please remember your camera.
ReplyDelete-xok.
Girls weekend at the beach?
ReplyDeleteI'm all in.
I was sad the show ended. It always gave me a chance to get out of my own head. I won't get her new network without paying for more channels so it is goodbye to Oprah for me.
ReplyDeleteOkay, well, if Mark's going to be there, count me in too!! I loved her last show- it was classic Oprah and just the right note to end on. I was surprised by the number of people who were disappointed, I felt like they maybe just didn't get it all along... :)
ReplyDeleteYes. We're responsible for our energy. We're also responsible for our thoughts and how we choose to use our power. And Oprah is the quintessential girlfriend, isn't she?
ReplyDeleteI loved her story as told in her Master Class series.
I've missed way too many of her shows and didn't get to see the last one. It comes on at a bad time here and I never get around to watching things I record. sigh. But I love these quotes - thanks for sharing! (And keep me posted on that girls' weekend at the beach!)
ReplyDeleteI saw the show and fortunately taped it too. I'm thinking I'll be watching it a few dozen more times. She was really fantastic. You know, I didn't expect to miss her, but I kinda do-- already.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, xo jj
I missed the show and I didn't often watch it but somehow there still feels like a big empty space without her show on tv:) Wonderful quotes...she was always so inspirational...
ReplyDeleteOh and Have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice post and lovely words from your heart.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend.
she is truly my fav. person on the entire world. She is an inspiration and a light that will be dearly missed.Hope she can have a wonderful life outside television.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing it with us.I did not have the heart to watch it...true!
xoxo
