i'll be there by ten...

i think
i would love to ride to your house
and
get to know you
~~
i think
we would walk through the woods
and
find fuzzy green moss and beige bumpy fungi growing under the damp trunks of trees
that we'd have to touch
and
photograph
just for fun
~~
i think
watching the sun gently move the clouds out of the way
while we ran through the fields
chasing butterflies
would make us hungry
and
we'd fill our plates with hummus and pita bread
and
sit under an old oak tree
on your grandmother's quilt
with
our legs crossed
while you poured the raspberry iced tea
~~
i think
we'd share stories and feelings
and
maybe even a deep dark secret or two
that would make us feel like friends
that had met in second grade
and
had never lost touch
~~
i think
when the growing navy sky reached low enough to toy with the cooling ground
telling me
it was time to leave
we'd make promises to see each other again
and
we'd hug for a very long time
and
tears would leave streaks on my cheeks
~~
i think
meeting you sounds perfect
*
this vintage vespa i found downtown
and
now i sorta covet it

Love this texture used... is it too much to ask which one?

And I hope you're writing a book, a collection of sorts... your photos, your words... really, you oughta.

Meeting you sounds just perfect as well. I went along on this adventure with you in my head but how I long for it in person.

I have really been craving a creative community in my area lately. Missing deeply the wonderful women I have met along the way spread all across the country like you.

I wish you were right down the block so we could do just what you describe so poeticly. Sending you an enormous hug!

I echo Jennifer's post. I can't wait to meet you but know I'm going to like you so much I'll want you within walking distance. And the photo is beautiful. I will have to ride out to you on the bike someday so you could take her picture & make her look beautiful too.

Oh Beth this is just how our meeting would be....wonderful, warm and blessed.

We have lots and lots of those vespa's riding around here.

So turn the story around this way to the world and lets set a date so we will meet in europe and I'll drive you around on one of the most beautiful vespa's.
How fun would that be.

Love your little story, makes me feel as if we just did that all.

That sounds so great. I hope your scooter has flotation devices to help you cross the Pacific Ocean.
I'd bake you a beautiful cake and wrap the left overs up for your trip home.

Everything about this post resonates with such joy, purity, gentleness, desire, anticipation -- yes, please find that Vespa again and ride it across the lake (for I know you can ride on water!) and come to visit!

Lovely texture on the photo. And I agree with the person above who said, "You are doing a book aren't you?" I think you should -- even if it's your very own shutterfly book! (Those are such fun!)
