right now...

seeing red

brilliant yellow and burnt umber are screaming from the hillsides
and
robust orange has loudly stomped its way into the dying fields
but
it's the reds of the season
dancing all around me
that have captured my attention this year
~~
they aren't yelling or waving wildly with silly grins on their faces
instead
they are gentle little souls saturated with warmth
*
but
that was a week ago
before
the beating winds
~which cause me to have "pee shiver" chills~
attacked the soft and quiet october
that I had so quietly prayed for
*
so
before
october wields anything else at me
making me feel like I'm in a fencing match with poor fitting body armor
I needed
one more peek
*

Hopefully you got out and shot a little on Wednesday since it was a perfect Fall day... at least in Milwaukee, not sure about Madison...just a few more left, let's hold on as long as we can!

I love the side of the old building with the dot of red and the moss on the tree. I love moss on trees ~ it makes them look mystical. Beautiful pictures Beth! You are always so inspiring~

Today is supposed to be a less winter like fall day... and I am scheduled to clean up a garden , so hopefully it is sunny and perfect! Beautiful images.

Beth ... most days I read and savor your blog for all of its riches. Today like so many others I just can't decide which I am moved by most, your images or your words ... and then I decided, heck, why try to choose. Beth is a dear and shares both!

I don't much like the wind either, especially on cold days. I really like your photo and I just love that barn and the moss covered tree. I was out at the parking walking my dog today and I too was attracted to the red, which normally doesn't catch my eye like it did today.

" like I'm in a fencing match with poor fitting body armor"... wonderful {though sad} description ... and sometimes the red seeps through our gray armor ... blessings of peace to you

What would October be without a raging wind storm? (we haven't had any wind or interesting storms here yet..boo hoo.)
So glad you took another peek and shared the red beauty.
