i photographed a large part of my day
yesterday
just in black and white
~
kind of like a documentary
that included a teenage son
who wasn't always amused that the camera was in his face
~
i'll share more of my "monochrome" day later this week
::
they said the moon last night
was the closet it's been to us in many years
~
funny
it looked exactly the same to me
~
i googled how to shoot the moon
after the instructions in my photography class
went right over my head
~
my timing for the evening was a bit off
since we were out having a wonderful dinner
so
i didn't shoot this photo until about 9:30
~
i think it's pretty amazing
*
did you see the moon the last night
did you shoot it
too
Yes I did and after seeing several around blogland this morning, I did a post too. Yours is lovely! I think the best one I've seen is Kate at Chronicles of a Country Girl. :)
ReplyDeleteI sure did. If the moon looked the same to you, you weren't out there early enough to see it rise.. that was amazing. Later in the night it was brighter than usual but pretty much the same size as always. Wonderful shot, Beth. I had too many obstructions for the most part but they turned out to be interesting shots in themselves.
ReplyDeleteSorry you can't post a comment on my blog?! I don't get it!!! You're even on Blogger too - not like you're a Wordpresser... I allow for Open ID comment leaving so besides going all the way to anonymous, I'm not sure what else to do! SORRY!
ReplyDeletewhat was the length on the lens? i didn't like any of mine last night.
ReplyDeleteyours is fantastic
ReplyDeleteLove your "moonochrome" shot! I was lucky enough to see it last night, but would never dare a photograph. Leave that to you and Hilary and a few others...
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
That shot is absolutely amazing and I think it's a "thing" with teenage boys (had one myself) to not have a camera pointed in their general direction - especially if the photographer is mom. :)
ReplyDeleteI did but yours is far better than my hand held photo! and the portrait of your son is so open and honest.
ReplyDeleteyou can see my photos at http://kathewsnapaday.blogspot.com and
http://katheworsley.blogspot.com
I see a strong resemblance to his Dad!
ReplyDeleteWow, can I relate! I tried so many settings to get that moon I was driving myself crazy! :-)
Great job!
incredible beth..have I told you lately how very much I love my visits here !?
ReplyDeletei did shoot the moon early Sunday morning ..all blurry ...cloudy . I am sure it is NOT how you are supposed to do it....posting tomorrow...
wow you got an incredible photo of the moon. my shots were blurry but it sure was big.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the moon as it rose because too many trees were in the way, but when it got high in the sky it didn't appear any larger than usual. So no........ I didn't shoot it. I've seen incredible shots from others and they mostly seem to be shot shortly after moon rise.
ReplyDeleteYour moon photo is gorgeous, as is that teenage son of yours. He looks so much like you. Bet you haven't heard that before, have ya'?!
ReplyDeleteI shot it too and it looks just like yours ! Shot my favorite at 11:30 pm. Then I went to bed. And you know, I thought it looked much the same as it always looks. Very bright, though.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fuzzy bright moon
ReplyDeletetucked away behind thick clouds
here.
But the eerie glow
was otherworldly
beautiful.
Handsome guy, that.
-Jennifer
You know, it looked the same to me too, and so I didn't bother to shoot it. Seeing your image, now I wish I had!!... wow.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shoot of the moon WOW !
ReplyDeleteSuper shot of the Supermoon!
ReplyDeleteI missed it.
My skies were too busy snowing.
We stepped outside to see it and thought it was fabulously large! Didn't photograph it though.... thought I would let everyone who is better at it than I snap the photos. You did a super moon shot!
ReplyDeleteDi
i did. i saw it rise over the mighty mississippi and had the most lovely moonlit walk along the riverside. it was magical. and no i didnt know that the moon was the closest to us for a long while. that makes it even more special.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Beautiful shots! I take it your son is feeling better too?
ReplyDeleteI tried photographing it very early yesterday morning, but it wasn't very good so I went - delete, delete, delete. Yours is lovely and the moon magnificent. Come by tonight to sign up for my give away tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of your son. Re the moon, I thought the moon last month was larger, but that's not what they said. It was beautiful. I didn't try to photograph it... I have enjoyed seeing what everyone else has done!
ReplyDeleteI had planned to, but storm clouds hid it from sight. :( Your shot is awesome.
ReplyDeleteSaw the moon...but not what I expected at all. Looked just like normal!! Sigh! What a disappointment!!
ReplyDeleteLove your moon shot!!
Hugs
SueAnn
No, I didn't get the chance to shoot the Moon last night because a rain storm blew through with 40mph winds! There was so much cloud cover that I also missed my chance to even just see and appreciate our corpulently rotund spherical neighbor in all it's LARGE glory! I thank you for sharing yours___=^..^=___Kittie
ReplyDeleteI saw the moon , but didn't attempt any photos.. knew all my favourite bloggers who know what they are doing would pull through! :)
ReplyDeleteeasier to take photos of strangers than our sons...
Gorgeous shot of the moon. I recognize that look on your adorable son's face. Was he saying something like, "enough already?" I can't imagine why they don't want us in their faces with the camera...
ReplyDeleteSaw it just as I was getting into bed. Didn't seem that big at that time, but others here took fabulous photos. Maybe it had to grow a little! We were early sleepers on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI did, although I have no clue about night photography. Mine will be at vision and verb tomorrow. I actually thought it looked better a few nights before, it had a cool halo effect around it, oh well. But I love how from all these different places, we were all out there taking pictures of the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the moon last night....no photos. I need to do that, over the ocean, which is only a couple of miles away!
ReplyDeleteyour moonshot is the best I have seen all week, and you know how many people shot the moon too!
ReplyDeleteBoth images are stunning. And that moon - oh you captured a great portrait of my old friend.
