no regrets....

~~
i found the saying on
"we heart it"
~
and
loved it enough to put it on one of my photos
~
maybe it should be on a poster
or
on a whole stack of "post its" that i can stick all over people and things
~
snort
~
are you still thinking about your "word" for 2011.
i am.
sometimes a word that i think will work beautifully for 365 days
fits perfectly in the morning and then becomes way too itchy by dinner time.
and
sometimes i say a word i just love over and over again
using all sorts of voice sounds
and
eventually it almost becomes bitter and i gag a little bit
and
then i know that's not the right one either.
~
but
i will find one. or it will find me. and it will be by the first of january.
~
so be ready
as i will want to share mine with you
and
i hope you'll have a fantastic one to share with me
~
and remember. a word is so much easier
and
i think more special
than a resolution.
resolutions are hard and overrated.

  5. Your photo would make a great poster. Love the frosty grass. I already have my WORD picked out for 2011.

  6. That's a beautiful photo and I love the saying. Wow...choose a word instead of a resolution? I'm going to try that!

  7. Love your "poster". It would make a wonderful gift card, but then folks would have to be honest with one another and probably wouldn't sell as much as the "ha ha" cards. :)

You made me laugh with the 'word' itching too much, and with trying it out all day with different voices and inflections. Then when you dared us to think of our own, my head hurt. Damn. I'll give it a try, but I'm not making any promises - to you or to myself! :)

As if to prove my point, the word verification for me was "Exedris" - one letter away from headache medicine...

  8. I have read that line before and made myself write it down so that I would not forget it. I think I need a whole stack of sticky notes as well.

I am still thinking of my word for 2011 as I have been reflecting on my word for 2010. It def is much better than a resolution.

    Sending you love. xoxo

  13. Regrets would drown me if I let them take hold in my life. Instead, I learn from mistakes and let the rest of the stuff go. Where it goes I have no idea but at least it is gone from my consciousness. Gosh, I will be thinking of a word for next year now. Hmmmmmmm.

  14. The first year I started riding the motorcycle we stopped by a garage sale in an old victorian home. Clad in leathers and boots it was hard not to imagine what we'd arrived in. There was a 90 yr old woman rocking in a chair who called o us. She asked if we were on a 'motorbike'. Hubby said I was on my own and her eyes lit up. "That's fantastic honey" she said holding my hand. "I always wanted to learn to ride but they told me it wasn't proper" as she glowered. She tightened her grip on my hand and told me "never have any regrets...go and live honey". And I have. Thanks for the reminder. I think I was becoming complacent again. And that word for the year...well heck you already know it.

  15. Swirling issues around me for many months now and my solution has been to back burner them... simmering they sit, ready to boil over and create a mess. Not my usual style at all, which only highlights that they are difficult, uncomfortable and important. I squirm to even consider the steps needed to deal, to disseminate, to defuse.

the word for me must be - begin.

  16. So did you have a word for last year, but then summed the year up as bumpy? I've been absent awhile and I tried to piece together this 'word project', but am still a bit confused.
I really enjoyed catching up your posts though, esp. the one where you described yourself and what you like and dislike. That one made me smile wide :)

  22. you are so funny, and so cute. i never make resolutions, and i don't even know if i can pick a word, i have this weird superstition, it is the same reason that i will never go to a psychic, i don't want to know what is before me, i want to let it unfold as it will. does that change if i pick a word? i don't know...

  23. Can't wait to find out what your word is.......
