i know, i know.....big whoop

i mean really. it was only 9 more inches on top of the 4 we already had.
and the winds were beyond brutal. but it is wisconsin. and this is our street.
for some reason
some of you think this is pretty
{shhh....i do too, but i don't admit it. ever}
did you know men like to fix things. my hubby walked down the sidewalk to talk with our neighbors who live on both sides of us who had just dug a neighbor out of the street. she's from california. the closer i got, i think i heard them trying to plot a way to magically make all this snow disappear. should i let them know it hasn't worked yet.

    We didn't get hit nearly as hard as you all, but it was a no school day all the same---one this teacher needed.:)

  18. I used to live in Madison and I remember those snows! My eyelashes used to freeze going to classes. Definitely pretty (from a window).

  19. Snow can be so beautiful when you're able to snuggle up inside. We had 5ft of snow last year and that was just a bit too much for me, especially as we live down a 3/4 of a mile dirt road that doesn't get plowed and we were snowed in for a week. Stay warm and safe.

  23. Nice neighborly thing to do, digging the neighbor lady from California out of the snow. It takes awhile to get used to how to drive in the snow, and in particular on icy streets.

  25. Your photos of the snow gorgeous and delightful. I love the way the colors pop against all that white. A true Winter Wonderland and beautiful. However, I can see where it would be a bit isolating after awhile and the need to go out and help neighbors would be a good thing.

  26. I LOVE SNOW! I am super jealous. Ask me why I decided to live in Houston. DUNNNO?? But I did wear a super big coat yesterday evening and the temp was in the 50s. My hubby was embarrassed. I wouldn't do so good in the cold.

  33. When I read posts like this, I am always amazed at the incredible variety of land and weather in our country. A few days ago we had a dusting of snow and it was a WONDER! We never, ever get snow till late January or so.

  34. If they find a way to make it disappear, maybe they can make it reappear where I live?
