this is what I've been working on...

have any of you heard about
~~
it's in almost every community worldwide
and
it's happening saturday
~~
our group here in madison started out with 2 interested people
and
a few ideas
~~
we now have 5 photographers
and
~I'm ecstatic and scared and nervous to be one of them~
a studio
agencies that are sending families to us
lots of equipment
and
many volunteers
but
most of all
we have some really big hearts
giving their time and attention
to complete strangers
this holiday season
in order to make their lives just a little bit brighter
and
their smiles just a little bit bigger
*
it's not too late to check out the help-portrait program
in your community
~~
there can never be too many people opening their hearts
for such an amazing program
~~
below is the first video I ever saw in regards to this movement
and
boy
did it ever move me
~~
I hope you have the time to watch it
and
maybe even the video above
highlighted in the december 12th date

  1. Oh Beth... you've filled my eyes with tears and my heart with hope! If I lived a tad closer I'd be running to you right now saying how can I help? I'd assist in any way possible. I can't wait to hear all about it!!

Hubby and I take photos at our school when they have a family dance. We charge 5 dollars and give it back to the school... but our line extends down the hallway and we literally shoot for 3 hours straight. You can tell for some people its the first family photo they've been able to afford in awhile.

    Awesome!

  6. Wow, I loved that video--watched it twice! What a wonderful thing you've chosen to be a part of. My guess is at the end of the day on Dec. 12 you'll be tired, but you'll never be the same!

  7. You know Beth, through my tears I am so proud of you. I am going to check out if we have something like that here. You will have so much fun, and I agree you won't be the same. I got involved with the gift of sight program and the difference a pair of glasses made for someone well now I am teary eyed again. Big hug my friend and let me know about your experience.

  16. First things first Beth. Your comment on my post made my heart glow. Your husbands reaction about giving a big tip would be the same way Michel would have reacted. First surprised but than gladd to see my big heart that would go out to them who have less.

About your post. You are a wonderful woman with so much power to give and heal. I'll bet you make beautiful pictures and let people smile and feel good about themselves. Hope you have a glorous day my friend.
