I flew away with my lover...

to the panhandle
~~
granted
it's a bit chilly right now
but
this is one of the places
where our hearts feel at home
~~
we'll be back in the snow before you know it
but
in the meantime
birds with personalities
and
baby fine white sand
and
skies dancing with color
are
the beautiful things
warming me up
while
I walk hand in hand
with the only person in the world
who understands my need
to take 200 photographs of the pelicans
without asking why

My grandmother used to live on Panama City Beach, we spent many a good time walking the beach and me with camera in hand almost always, taking 200 photos. My husband is not so amused. You are lucky. Enjoy your stay..

I love that you have this place and share it together. I call places like this returning places. It' the place you go to touch who you are, to remember who you were the last time you were there, to wonder who you will be the next time you go.

Or, as you so beautifully said.."one of the places
where our hearts feel at home"

What an amazing pelican! It was worth all 200 shots!

Wonderful shots and that sunset is to die for...I can't resist taking pictures of pelicans either. They are the sweetest creatures...such love in their eyes. Have a wonderful time and keep the photos numbering at least 200 each day. Happy New Year!

Pelicans are very special to me! Our Charity nursing pin has a pelican on it!! I've always loved the ocean and pelicans are part of it, swooping and diving so elegantly for their meals. I see them all over the world. Your pictures are incredible, Beth...the beautiful colors of the sky at different times of the day, the pelicans at rest, the other sea birds foraging for tidbits...spectacular.

How special it is to walk with someone that understands your need to take so many photographs and not as why but just be patient and let you be you.

Beth ... enjoy.
